“great little hotel”
Reviewed 5 September 2010

I am looking forward to booking another stay at La Hacienda San Miguel in the near future. It is a great little hotel as Gisela and her staff are wonderful hosts. The hotel is located a half block from the ocean on the northern edge of San Miguel's shopping area. It is also convenient to great restaurants off of the main street - La Choza is an excellent choice. I came to Cozumel for scuba diving. Although dive operators do not pick divers up at hotels in this area, it is only a 10 to 15 minute ride via scooter to the marina where dive boats dock. Since my dive operator, Living Underwater, left the dock at 7:40, hotel staff served my continental breakfast earlier than their serving normal times. After my daily dives, I relaxed in La Hacienda's beautiful courtyard, with some wine, cheese, and crackers. I can't wait to return.

Antonio,Maria and the whole staff were fantastic. It is close enough to some great eateries and the Square,to walk.Rented scooters after Antonio lent us some snorkels. This was our second stay at the Hacienda. The whole staff will give you points of interest to see. We consider these and more residences our amigos now.

My husband and I booked a week stay at the Hacienda San Miguel through Orbitz. The pricing was right and the hotel looked close enough to the good restaurants off the main street, as well as the nightlife on the main street. The location turned out to be perfect for us! We didn't need the big fancy resort or pool, so this place was perfect. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Air conditioning and full kitchen was included. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. They are organized and very curteous. The location is quiet, but still close to everything. I'm sure we'll be back to Cozumel, and I don't need to look up another place to stay, as I will be staying at this hotel again. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I recently went to Cozumel. We loved our stay at Hacienda San Miguel. The gardens were beautiful. The location was close to the airport and close to downtown, but not too close to either. The hotel was only a few buildings in from the water too. The housekeeper came in on a daily basis. Overall, we loved the place and plan on going back this summer. The only negative was that our room was next to the road so we had a street light shining through the curtains. We remedies this with face masks and we slept likes babies.

This upcoming trip will be our fourth. Everything we need is within a brief stroll. We can't recommend the San Mig highly enough. Antonio and May will organise anything you could possibly think of, from laundry to day-trips ...and, of course, fishing! The town square on Sunday nights is a delight; Guido's and La Choza restaurants are marvellous dining experiences.

My husband and I booked Hacienda San Miguel online and were very happy with our choice. This was our first trip to Cozumel and it was a brief stay, as we had spent the 5 days previous at an 'all-inclusive' in the Riviera Mya. What a fun change this was! We walked from the ferry with our bags to the hotel. This place is on a quiet street within walking distance of everything! Our room was very nice with tiled floors, Mexican style furniture, air-conditioning that worked well (unfortunately we didn't really need it), very nice bathroom with painted sink bowl (pretty), and a small kitchen with a full size fridge. We didn't need that either since we found plenty of great restaurants. The staff were so helpful and pleasant. They gave us weather reports to aid in our decision about which day we should do a snorkel trip, restaurant recommendations, arranged a jeep rental for us, and brought us a continental breakfast each morning, which we enjoyed on our patio overlooking the courtyard and gardens. This place was quiet, casual, well-maintained, comfortable. Although there is not a pool, nor is it on the beach (one within a short walking distance), we would definitely stay here again!

We are now into our seventh stay over a six year period, usually for 4-5 weks per visit. Gisela and her staff are exceptionally pleasant, helpful and attentive. The hotel has all of the comfort and amenities you could want for a carribbean island vacation. For those who say you can't swim in front of the hotel - wrong - we do it almost every day, mostly for late afternoon snorkeling. Wonderfully located on the north edge of San Miguel - a 10 minute walk from the main square, a one minute walk to Guidos, a five minute walk to Al Pie Del Carbon steak house, and many other great places to eat..
