“Best Lobster in Cozumel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

Loved the lobster. It was done perfectly. Its not the cheapest place for seafod in Coz, but hey, they specialize in Lobster! I loved it. The queso fundito and shrimp cocktail appetizers were excellent. The service was absolutely fantastic, and considering I paid $26 for a very good sized lobster that was probably about 20% bigger than the $22 lobster at Casa Mission, I think it's great value for the money. Don't expect fancy surroundings though, This place is typical of family owned restaurants in Cozumel. Most of the restaurant is open air with vines forming a light canopy over the dining area, and the bathroom is right next to the or at the dining area, and the bathroom sink is actually in part of the dining area. But it feels like someone's family kitchen. Its more charming than trashy. WE all loved it. Anyone looking for a fancy waterfront location can skip this place, but if you want excellent food and reasonable prices along with great service, this is a 'must do' on the Cozumel bucket list. This is already on our 'return trip' list for next year.

“It's OK, Go on in!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

A small colorful building with a thatched-roof, about a block from the towns’ main street, awaits you. Go ahead. Go on in. Lobsteria is charming and authentic with a peaceful garden. The lobster is to die for at a reasonable price, for lobster. FRESH!! Other choices are equally as pleasing. Might I gently add the bathrooms are clean!
Lesson, There are 5 ways to eat in Cozumel: 1. The Tourist Plan which is over-priced and easy to find. 2. The Reasonable Plan has prices just like at home. 3. The Search and Discover Plan is a mystery; but fun. 4. The Local Plan is something you will only understand with experience. 5. The Cantina Plan needs a local friend and a diehard tenacity.

Read trip advisor and thought would try it also, was not dissapointed a bit. Great home made food , Lobster was so tasty, atmosphere by the tree in the back room set a nice mood for the eveing. Service was delightful . Please dont let the outside steer you away. You must give it a try just turn at red roof post office on main street go down one block and think you are in another world.....

“Excellent Food and Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2012

We may have had our best meal on the island at La Lobsteria. Delicious lobster bisque and lobster meat tacos. The lobster was sweet for Caribbean lobster. We also had beautifully grilled grouper. The soups and sauces were all tasty. Spice was optional and our group had a full spectrum of tastes for spice. The "hot" was a hot as we had anywhere without sacrificing taste. The milder sauces were still full of taste. The atmosphere is casual and yet the location is quite pretty. Sevrice was very personal and friendly. There is no fine dining in Cozumel notwithstaidng the pretense of some of the restaurants. La Lobsteria had delicious food served to taste and in a friendly atmosphere. We could not ask for more and really enjoyed ourselves. The price was very reasonable as well.

“Great food, nice location-you would never know you were downtown!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2012

Popped in for lunch when we were strolling downtown San Migel. We remembered this place from a previous years visit. As often as businesses change here, we were not sure what to expect. Thankfully, nothing has changed. The food was great, a mixed ceviche' with a couple of cold Dos Equis to start our trip in Cozumel. The other guests around us had some beatiful food as well. We had every intention of going back for dinner, but as is the case with vacations, we ran out of time, long before we ran out of restaurants to try! But, we will be back for friendly service and FRESH food!
