“DELICIOUS, AND MOST EXPENSIVE ITEM IS $6.00”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2012

I was taken here by a couple locals, and saw no other tourists during lunch. Meals come with a really nice tea(safe for gringos)beans and rice, a bowl of soup, chips and salsa and your entree. They had about 8 choices that were less than $5.00 and 3 others that were less than $6.00. Entrees include beef fajitas, chicken fajitas, ribs, cactus flower rellenos. Everything we had was well prepared and tasty. The place is clean, and the owners very nice. My five star rating reflects the taste of the food without respect to the great deal!

“Classic cocina economica right in the neighborhood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2012

Los Chilangos is the neighborhood loncheria near our house. It's a small place with only a few tables set in what was originally the family living room. Meals are very inexpensive here and quite tasty.

The menu changes daily, with typically 4-5 options. The extremely inexpensive flan is a nice way to finish up.

Stopped by for lunch one day. They took me in the kitchen and showed me everything they had. The soups and the chicken were great. and at a great price.

“A place to eat with the locals.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2012

This is a nice little restaurant in the living room of a home. It is inexpensive. The food is pretty good. The people are very friendly. There were a couple of main courses being offered when we were there including a chicken mole, a shredded beef stew and a vegetable plate. I got the beef and it was OK but not great. I wish I had tried the chicken. The folks I was with each had grilled chicken. The portions are sizable and it is very inexpensive. No tourists here. Its all locals. Definitely worth trying. I wouldn't have any fear of getting sick on this food. The ladies running the place were very nice and took me back to the kitchen to see the meals being prepared before I ordered. Give it a try.

“A place to eat great food in a family's home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2012

Food is great here. Chalkbord menu everything is about 5 usd. Very little english is spoken, but friendly ladies will grab you by the hand, take you to the kitchen & let you look at what's being served before you choose. This makes the choice harder because everything looks so good
