We stayed there just for few nights but have nothing but good memories left. Swim-up bar never really got crowded, same with infinity pool. Beach little too small but rent a car/jeep and endless beaches are just few miles away. This place is very clean and view from upper floors are breathtaking. Safe and entertaining. Snack bars and restaurants serve fresh variety of foods. We would stay there again.

The Park Royal is the fifth all inclusive hotel we have stayed at in Cozumel. As I searched 7 day Air/Hotel packages the Park Royal came up with a price for the package that was about what we usually pay for airfare only. Needless to say I was skeptical about what to expect, but the reviews looked good so we booked our trip.

Rooms
Our room was on the third floor so there was no view, we asked about and upgrade to a higher floor but none were available. We don't spend much time in the room so this is not a big deal to us.

Plus:
The room and bathroom were clean with plenty of space, The maids did a great job keeping the room up.

Negative:
The room did not include a coffee maker or iron. The safe was $2.00 per day to use and there was a charge for wifi. Our bed was par for Mexico, very hard.(the only really good bed we have had in Cozumel was at the Palace)

Grounds

The grounds were beautiful and well kept, there are 4 bars, 2 pools plus a kids area pool, the beach area was nice with a good walk in area for snorkeling. The beach is across the road but you walk under and don't really notice the road is there. The snorkeling was good right at the resort lots of fish easy access. I take my gear so I did not experience the gear rental service.

Food and Drinks

Plus
They have a large clean buffet building, the service was outstanding, the food was above average for all inclusive. We dined at the Mexican and Italian restaurants 3 nights out of the 7, we had a group of 10 and had no problem getting in, we made our reservations early. The food and service at the Italian restaurant was the best we have had on any trip to Cozumel, on or off resort. The drinks were good. Luis at the pool bar was fantastic, by the second day he would have our drinks started or ready before we got to the bar. We always tip the waiters and bartenders but it seemed every one got great service.

Negative
No wait service around the resort or at the pool and beach, this is the first resort we have stayed at that did not have waiters serving around the pools and beach. This made for long lines at the bars during the busy times. The sports bar off the lobby needs updating. The food at the beach snack bar and the main pool snack bars was very limited, we were able to get guacamole by going up to the dining room and taking to down to the beach. The great bartenders we had made up for the self service.

Entertainment

We are not big on the resort shows but did peek in on a couple of the shows, not much to see.

We had a great stay at the Park Royal and will stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want a view, book a higher room in advance, it seems it is rare to get an upgrade when you ch...

We returned 5/23/14 after 7 days at Park Royal. It was very very nice,

Service was exceptional; particularly food service. Food service was the best we have ever experience at an all Inclusive. The buffet service was great as was service at the Mexican a la carte restaurant. We have been to the high rated all inclusives like Excellence, Secrets Montego Bay, and Dreams and the food service exceeded these and was 5 star with one exception.

The service at the Italian restaurant was bad and was very much in contrast to the other great service.

Food was good at the buffet and slightly better than usual medium price all inclusives. The Mexican restaurant was great and recommended. The Italian restaurant food was good but because of the bad service as above, we did not go back. Also just a note, the Italian restaurant has a salad bar and a dessert bar. Some people may like this but for us, an a la carte restaurant with a dress code should be all wait service.

The rooms are very good size. Our view was great and everything at he resort is super clean.

The things that prevent this resort from more than a 3 star rating with its almost 5 star food service rating are: single vanity sink in the bathroom, no coffee maker, no small refrigerator in room and the ridiculous WiFI policy. Minor stuff to us but they're not there if others care.

The beach sand area is an OK size but water area is very small and rocky to enter. You can go thru an access to deep water beyond the rock enclosure but this area is mostly for snorkeling. Don't expect Cancun beaches any where on the West side of Cozumel; they're not there. Plenty of beach and pool lounges and two infinity pools and a large pool - all with swim-up bars.

We had a wonderful time for half the cost of usual medium all inclusive and will return.

As an RCI member made reservations for two rooms for 7 days. I reservations were for ocean front rooms with a king bed, above the 5th floor and I requested that if possible the rooms be adjoining. The only thing we got was the adjoining. When I questioned the desk clerk he became "almost" rude. He stated to me what I've read on trip advisor from previous reviews. If you are not part of their timeshare company, you do not get any of the good rooms. We were put on the 3rd floor. While we could kind of see the ocean, it wasn't the same as ocean front. The rooms were clean, but well worn and the beds are like sleeping on bricks. The HVAC in one of the rooms wouldn't turn down and it was under 60 degrees in the room. Once we called they did take care of it. The food is ok, they try and have a different type of food each day. The specialty restaurants dress code is a JOKE! I packed long pants, and a dress shirt and my wife wore a dress. We get there and see that we are the only ones meeting the dress code, most are in shorts and t-shirt. I write about this because I specifically called the resort and asked them if the dress code on their website was enforced, and they said it was. Don't pack the extra clothes; go in your shorts and sandals. The pool bar closes 1 hour before the pool closes, not sure why this is but it sure doesn't seem right to me. I would stay here again for two reasons. One, the scuba dive shops will pick you up on the peer next door. Two, the room only cost me $250 for the week and the all inclusive was under $700. There are nicer places to stay in Cozumel, but the all inclusive packages at those places are outrages.

May 2014 my wife and I took an all inclusive vacation at the park royal. It was an excellent vacation, the staff was wonderful and very attentive. Juan the food manager did everything he could to make our stay the very best. He and his staff made for a memorable vacation. The grounds were clean, although the infinity pool could be updated. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Higher up gives a better view of water and cruise ships

This resort is part of a chain of timeshare properties so you can be sure you'll be pressured to listen to a sales pitch when you arrive. The grounds and our room are very neat and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good and the ala cart restaurants are excellent. However the method to reserve an ala cart dinner is ridiculous (you must either phone or show up in person from noon to 5 each day) and difficult to do unless you never leave the property. So we only went twice during our week-long stay. The beach is okay and you can snorkel right there off the property. Loved the convenience of the dive shop right next door and they are highly recommended. My chief complaints would be the limited hours each place is open for each meal. Yes, you can eat from 7 am to about 10 pm but you have to know the schedule for each restaurant. The drinks were good and the bartenders were friendly. One of the three pools was closed for maintenance during our stay. We didn't like the limited seating in the lower level lobby bar where everyone likes to hang out in the evening and you could count on someone smoking there every night despite the no smoking signs. Overall a nice resort in a convenient location and a good value for the money.

Room Tip: If possible, get a room on the 6th floor or higher. Otherwise your ocean view will be limited due t...

This was our second visit to the Park Royal Cozumel. As like the first time, the grounds are impeccably maintained !!! Never any litter of any sort on the grounds. Check-in was a breeze and our rooms were ready when we arrived at approx 1:30. The only thing negative with our room was the shower handle was loose which made it a bit of a task to find the hot water side, but not a big deal.
Drinks were free flowing and they would make whatever you wanted as long as they had the ingredients( no mint so no Mojitos:( ). The food was excellent, plenty of variety, always fresh, and plentiful. If there was some food that wasn't out, like guacamole, just ask and they'll bring you some, fresh made !!!
