We hadn't booked but wrongly assumed that the booking.com price through trip advisor, would be honoured so we caught a taxi to the hotel.
After being told to wait for an hour until the supervisor "Rocio" was back from lunch, (we weren't even aloud to use the facilities pool etc as we were "not guests" yet) we were told that the booking.com price was only an average and the cost was 30 USD more. I asked to use the internet to do the booking and that was 25USD for non guests. We had been travelling for 23 hrs from Australia and were very tired, so we reluctantly agreed to pay. Rocio the supervisor happily took the money and continued to ignore us...We had to physically as so do we get room keys now or?? She said "wait moment" very rudely.. We had only been waiting now for an hr and a half at 4pm for a room...
We paid by card and went out to rest and lie in the sun. We ordered a couple of beers and were told we could not charge to our room because we had no credit. I spoke to the supervisor Rocio again and was told to charge to our room we needed to leave a credit card with her. I explained that the usual process is to take the details because we needed our card for shopping and eating. She refused.
I didn't have any cash, so I said I wouldn't order anything more and I would bring down the money shortly from our room.
I bought down the 8USD and gave it to reception. She was very rude and said I had to pay it to the restaurant. We were heading out so decided I would pay at breakfast in the morning, as I didn't know where the restaurant was.
We went in to town for dinner and were back at 930 exhausted from our travels. An hour later we were fast asleep and the phone rings. I ignored the first time and they rang again. I answered and the person said something and hung up. We went back to sleep and then there was a knock at the door demanding 8USD and if we didn't pay now we would have to leave. This was at 10:15pm after travelling 23 hrs from aus!!!
Everyone in the hotel was rude. Breakfast was awful and didn't come as ordered. Never again. Worst service we have ever experienced!! 0 out of 10....
