This was our second time staying at Las Anclas. For our family this place is perfect. Great location two blocks from the Plaza, easy walking distance to the best restaurants in town, a block from Aldora Divers Shop and 1 1/2 blocks from the pier where we were picked up by the dive boat. And it's quiet. Across the street from Las Anclas is a lovely lady who cooks the best lunches from 1:00 to 4:00 daily except Sunday. You can eat inside or in her lovely garden and the name of the place is "Sabores". We ate 7 lunches there and enjoyed every one.
Pedro will take good care of you at Las Anclas. Our adult daughter was provided a bed downstairs and we slept upstairs. Having a small kitchen allowed us to have a small breakfast before going diving each day. A secure area is provided where wetsuits and dive equipment can be cleaned and hung to dry. Each room/mini apartment has a private garden with Mayan statue that is illuminated at night. The main garden area is a nice place to socialize with other guests and has plenty of seating and a fountain. We were pleased to find "Bvlgari" shampoo, cond. and lotion. Everything is spotless. The hotel is very unassuming from the outside but once you are inside the iron gate you know you are in a very welcoming place. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. Exceptionally good value.

We had a wonderful time in Cozumel and it helped that our hotel was in such a centralized and very convenient location that was close to everything. We arrived and were warmly greeted by our host, Pedro. Such a gentlemen and was very warm and easy to talk to. The split-level condo was very nice and was always kept clean. Free drinking water was always available in the room. The decor was nice and modern. If you ever need any information, Pedro was always happy to help. I highly recommend this hotel if you don't like staying that those mega hotels with all the noise and crowds. This quiet hotel is central to everything and we walked to the pier, shopping, and many restaurants.

Thank you Pedro for being part of such an amazing trip! See you soon...

My husband and I found Villas Las Anclas online and booked it for 2 nights - we wish we could have stayed more! Once we were inside the beautiful courtyard we were SO surprised at how nice the accommodations were - from the street this place doesn't look like much! And our villa, one of seven, was beautiful inside. The atmosphere was more 'European' than 'Mexican', but being on nights 8 and 9 and already having done the beach/pool/AI vacation, we were ready for a change. The main floor consisted of a small kitchenette with a table and chairs, a small fridge, and a microwave. The coffee maker and large bottle of water that were provided were the only things we used. The living room area had contemporary-styled couches and a small T.V. This place was unique with a spiral staircase to the upper level where the bedroom and bath were. What I especially liked were the aesthetic touches that made this place unique and pleasant - vibrant artwork, crisp white linens with touches of color from the bedspread, and unique lighting that added character and atmosphere. We felt it had a modern, yet cozy and comfortable feeling about the room. The owners have a way with little touches that were so nice! At first we were uncertain about not having a safe in the room and asked the owner (Ayell) to keep our passports for us. But after being there for a short time we realized how comfortable and safe we were.
The courtyard had one central seating area that was great for meeting other guests. The lighting on the plants at night were so pretty and the evenings were pleasant. We enjoyed visiting with other people and sharing a glass of wine. It seemed that many had stayed here before and were in Cozumel to go scuba diving. So we received great advice on good places to eat - and there were plenty of options. The location was close to everything in the town of San Miguel and we enjoyed walking everywhere. Our taxi ride to the airport was only $8.
We look forward to staying here again!

Many of the Austin divers have stayed with Pedro and Eyal many many times. They are family now and we will continue to stay there when we want to enjoy the Island!!!

My husband and daughter and I just returned from our 5th consecutive year staying at Las Anclas in Cozumel and I am sorry I have not written a glowing review much earlier. I cannot express how much we all love the suites (feels like our home away from home) and our extra special hosts that truly make our trips so memorable, Pedro and Eyal. More gracious hosts can not possibly exist! Having the extra space, living room/kitchen-eating area downstairs, bedroom/ bath upstairs allows us plenty of room as we stay for 9 nights. We especially love the outdoor garden area where the guests from the other 6 suites tend to mingle thought out the day. We have grown especially fond of many of the repeat guests who tend to come around the same time each year. And if that is not a true testament of a excellent hotel (repeat customers!), then I don't no what is.
The day we left, other guests and Pedro came to see us off...sad to see us leave as we were sad to leave this delightful little oasis and them.

We just returned from a wonderful stay in Cozumel. What a great choice this hotel is: location, comfort, cleanliness, friendly proprietor Ayel. We would definately come back here again. It is quiet and has an outdoor seating area to converse with other guests and the owners are very helpful with directions and restaurant information etc. Rooms are contemporary, air conditioned, and are spacious and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised.

Extremely clean hotel with relaxing garden. Great place to relax after diving and other activities. Centrally located next to one of the best restaurants in town (Sorrisi). The rooms are two levels, with the secluded bedroom on the upper level (and bathroom) and the lounge and kitchen on the lower level....a perfect set-up. Nice, peaceful colors that vary with each room, great maid service, and nice natural lighting. The best part of our stay was interacting with Pedro and Eyal. Both have lived extremely interesting lives and have great advice regarding restaurants and activities on the island. Cheers to them for making our stays in Cozumel so pleasant and relaxing.
