We were on a carnival cruise during Christmas and we decided to do a day pass at Allegro Cozumel. All you can eat and drink for $45 per person.
We were not told when I emailed them, a couple of weeks before, that it was a good idea to make reservations for a day pass. It turned out not to be a problem.
We got there and waited in line for over an hour at the receiption desk to get service before we were allowed access to the resort. . Only one person was there. By the time we got waited on it was too late to do breakfast.
We were also told that one of the pools was closed for repairs, it happened to be the big pool. We were not offered a discount because of the pool being closed. The kiddie pool was being cleaned when we got there which only left a small pool, a small hot tub and the ocean. The pool was not heated and it was COLD. So was the ocean. One does not have control over the ocean temp. The luncheon area was not open till noon and it was poor at best. Food was of poor quality. This was not the best value for the money. The bar wasn't open till later in the morning.
The resort was clean as far as we could tell, we was not there long enough to really tell you what kind of service they had, but you could tell they were understaffed.
It did give me some idea what Allegro might be like and I am glad I never booked a weeks vacation at any of them if they provide the same.
I would not do this again.
