“Perfect budget accommodations”

Simple, small and pretty quiet considering it is right in the middle of everything. Since I think visiting this delightful island is all about the beaches, food and nightlife, I think this is all you need. A shower with hot water, a good air conditioner, fridge, helpful-friendly staff, handy to everything and clean. We found it perfect for a couple and the price was reasonable.

Stayed a couple of nights in this very nice, very clean hotel. Ingeniero Gabriel was very charming, as were all his employees. The room was spacious and very clean with a huge king sized bed. The location was in the center town near all the action and close Playa del Norte. We decided we didn't care that much for Isla Mujeres, too touristy, but this hotel is quite reasonably priced and a pleasure to stay in.

Stayed one night in a room (small double and single beds) with fridge and three nights in a suite (huge double, kitchenette with microwave and full size fridge freezer). Both had air con and fan. Decor modern, super-clean. Location really excellent, downtown but in a quiet street, very close to restaurants, supermarket and the beach but no external noise at night. Service very helpful and friendly from all staff and cleaner did an excellent job every morning. what was outstanding was that our UK to international adaptor "disappeared" from our luggage during the flight, and first of all Gabriel looked to see if he could get one for us in Cancun, then, when this proved impossible, he MADE one for us to take on the rest of our travels in Mexico!

Only a couple of niggles - air con not quite up to the suite but fine in the room, and the fridge and fan in the suite were quite noisy at night. Didn't really bother us but might some people. Also kitchen in suite could have a bit more equipment. Again not important to us but might bother others.

We booked 15 nights at Xbulu-Ha and just loved the experience. The hotel is close to all the restaurants, grocery store and North Beach. It is clean and well maintained and the staff are really special. Angelica and Alfredo always greeted us warmly, were always helpful and were wonderful with our two children (age 2.5 and 6). Gabriel, the owner, speaks English and German and always was helpful and responsive, even lending his own son's beach toys to our children. The first week we were in the downstairs studio suite, which worked best for our family since it is the most spacious unit with a full kitchenette (including cookstove) and large bathroom. The second week, we moved to a double room upstairs because the downstairs suite was not available. This was a bit tight for our family, but we know now to book earlier next time. This is a small 10 unit family run hotel. If you are looking for a glitzy highrise all-inclusive, this is not the place (and probably neither is Isla Mujeres). If you are looking for clean, convenient and comfortable with warm and friendly staff, honestly interested in your well being, then this is the place. One other note, the Wi-fi worked well in the downstairs unit; upstairs we sat out on the breezeway to get a good connection. We hope to return next January!

Nice room, which was very clean with a small but good bathroom. Safe and tv were nice to have. Hotel is in a great location in the centre with many restaurants nearby and 5 mins walk to beach. They have free wifi but you need to sit in the lobby to get a good signal.

This is a nice little hotel. The owners are very friendly, though they don't speak English. The rooms are small and dark but they are comfortable enough, with cable tv, wifi, fridge, safe... The hot water did not work for long, and the toilet would not flush completely. The double bed was a bit small. But really my only complaint was the noise. There are obviously some regulars who stay here, and they congregate in the hallway and get drunk and loud. They were also up talking at the top of their lungs first thing in the morning. The walls are very thin. We ended up moving to Hotel Belmar, which I found to be better, but this hotel was a pretty good value overall too.

I loved this little 10 room hotel. Alfredo and Angelica are incredibly special people. Yes, they don't speak english but that's the fun of it! You can practice your spanish!

I'd like to specially aknowledge them for all their help when I discovered that my camera was lost somewhere during the day. They made countless calls for me as we believed the camera had gotten mixed up with the glasses and donations to the Little Yellow School House...sure enough it had. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all involved in getting my camera back to me...my photographs mean everything to me so having it returned the next day meant the world. THANK YOU!

Cleanliness - Spotless inside and out of our rooms. There's a lovely main sitting area where you can watch the world go by...super clean!

Service - Beautiful kind and caring people Alfredo and Angelica

Location - Right around the corner from Hidalgo, one block to La Cazuela and 2 blocks to Ciro's.

Value - $45 CAN a night...amazing price!

Rooms - Spotless! My room had a comfy bed, night table with lamp, tv, electronic safe, bistro table and chairs set and a lovely fridge.

Sleep quality - Very comfy bed and a quiet sleep!

Thank you to everyone there..I can't wait to go back!
