Mostly quiet destination that if your looking for out of the way fits the bill.
Boat ride- Small boat that is nice enough for transfer from the island and back. We made it in a downpour so we retreated indoor.
First impressions are always marked as crucial and Rolandi drops the ball here miserably.
Reception- Checked the couple we came across to the island in immediately. Turned to us and told us check in was 3 pm(it was 1:30) and our room was not ready. We sat and waited soaking wet as we arrived in a downpour and the gentleman working the desk got up and left for the day at 3:15. Had to get someone else and magically the keys were sitting out just waiting. We received no info about the hotel(WiFi. restaurant times, etc) like the other people, just given keys and shuttled off to the room.
Rooms- Nicely decorated and spacious enough. I estimated around 750 sq ft. Beds are comfortable enough. Shower has room for two with two separate heads and body sprays(only complaint is only one temperature control). Steam control for shower is near sink(takes about 5 minutes to get going) and makes the completely enclosed shower very warm. Hot tub takes up half the deck, we were on the third floor(2nd according to elevator) and taking the cover off could be a chore for elderly people. We were with out water for three hours on the Saturday we were there and 4 hours later hot water was still not available.
Pools- Nice and clean and the wait staff were great and friendly.
Beach- Small area but was kept clean and is separated from any other beach area making it quiet and remote.
Chairs- There was barely enough chairs when we arrived combined between the pool and beach. Yes the claim your chair game starts early here too. By 7:30 AM most chairs by the pool were already claimed. The last day we were there the amount of people had increased and chairs were at a premium.
restaurant- Food was great, didn't try anything we said this is bad. Very pricey and I would recommend eating out for dinner. Breakfast was included but very limited as to what was included. The included breakfast is eggs, fruit, juice, coffee and some breads. Large Menu but you only get the first small section included. After a week this could get old quickly.
Getting around- You will need a golf cart or cab to get anywhere from here. It doesn't look to far but it is. I suggest a trip to Chedraui and stocking up on water and alcohol if you are going to be at the resort much(70 pesos a bottle for water adds up quick)
