spacious, cool (a/c necessary in El Centro) and clean rooms. Bed is hard, but that is the norm in Mexico :) Very nice place. Good value.

Stayed 2 weeks over Christmas New Years holiday. The locals had an all night drink fest party Christmas night so no sleep then but ok the rest of the time. The glass doors could be a little better to shield noise. Had to rent a beach towel for $5. I kept it a week and used it sparingly to keep it clean. They pay $5 to have it cleaned because their washer is not big enough. No beach chairs provided. Those r the only negatives. The proximity to everything was AWESOME as you can walk and do not need a golf cart. The front desk staff was excellent. Loved it.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2012

I took my boyfriend on his first trip to Mexico this past February. Having been to Isla before I booked Hotel Kinich on a recommendation from someone I met on the island in June. Overall, we had a very good experience. The hotel was (very) clean, the rooms were large and well maintained, the staff was friendly and the location was perfect.

Housekeeping - Really clean! Unlike some other boutique hotels in this area we received clean sheets and towels regularly and the room had always been cleaned when we returned from the beach... or wherever.

Room size and condition - We stayed in one of the regular rooms (not a suite) and it was still very spacious. The bed was comfortable, the room was air conditioned, we had a mini fridge and having the verandah was nice. No complaints.

Staff - Always friendly and helpful. I liked that there was always someone at the desk and a night auditor present at all times.

Location - On Juarez one street down from Hildago. Street noise was pretty minimal. You could definitely hear things going on outside but I have stayed at places that were much much worse. Granted, I think the street noise is all part of the charm of staying in Centro. The hotel is walking distance to everything. Golf cart rental in bottom of hotel (right next door).

Noise - As mentioned above, the street noise was pretty minimal. We slept through the night easily and were very comfortable for the most part. My only complaint would be the voices echoing from the hall outside. Given the construction of the building stairwell/atrium (marble or something) any speaking in the hall was very audible in our room (all rooms I think). Normally this would not be an issue. Unfortunately there was one LOUD female guest who decided to have Skype conversations repeatedly on the sofa in the stairwell at ungodly hours of the morning. One morning in particular I awoke to a very heated discussion over the sale of a cottage at 7:30am. When a fellow hotel guest decided to approach her about this asking her to be quiet - she yelled at them. Not very neighborly. I don't hold the hotel accountable for a rude guest. In fact, when I approached the staff member at the desk, they promptly addressed it. :)

Wireless Internet - They do have WiFi. It worked most times in our room but the connection was much better in the hall. They have sofas out there so this was fine. The staff kindly offed that we could use the desk computer if we had any trouble - which we didn't.

Overall, the value for this hotel was fantastic. I will stay there again. Hopefully soon!

Thanks again!

Very clean-- large rooms--great location-- the best staff!!

All exceptional! Thank you!

Room Tip: The suites on the top floor are the best; however, due to their popularity, they rent quickly.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2011

We moved to this hotel after staying one night in Hotel Bucaneros. We found a similar priced hotel for a greater value. We ended up staying there for 4 nights.

We got a double room with king size bed, towels, LCD, AC, private bathroom, balcony, mini fridge, micro-wave and safe box.

The crew was extremely kind.
The AC in our room wasn't working well, on our way out we informed the receptionist. When we got back few hours later, they said that there is a problem with the AC and that they will gladly move us to a different room (we got an even better room, with a fan and bigger balcony).

We enjoyed our stay very much. Highly recommended.
