We just went snorkeling with Enrique and Jesus with a small group of 4. Enrique did a great job pointing out fish we would never have seen on our own. They had a good sense of humor and clear enthusiasm for sharing ocean life with their guests.
If you get sea sick easily, consider bringing some medicine, as the rocking of the waves (even when you are in the water) can be intense.
From the Cancun hotel zone, we took the R1 bus to downtown, found an Ultramar cambio for 8 pesos to Puerto Juarez, took the ferry across, and a taxi to Casa del Buceo (though you could also walk if you know the way). We purchased the Ultramar pass online for $6 each person on the way there. However, when we went to buy the return ticket, the woman at the small ticket booth charged us $7/person to Puerto Juarez or $14/person to Tortugas (even though the online price to Tortugas was only supposed to be $9.50). We wonder if she was pocketing the extra.
