Captain Tony Garcia's Guadalupana Tour Boat
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Captain Tony was fantastic. We saw so many whale sharks and manta rays, we lost count. I highly recommend this adventure for anyone. We will never forget it.

We took two separate trips with capt Tony, both turned out to be great days! A morning snorkel to El Farito, even got to see a rare sea turtle!! Our whale shark tour was a little dicey because of the choppy waves, but Capt Tony saved the day with a surprise trip to Isla Contoy! All together he is a great captain and host!

The attitude of Tony & first mate Noah made the trip !! snorkeling was great the food prepared by Tony was out of site!! could not imagine having a better outing , also the price $70 USD was the best deal on the island. Thanks Tony for a great day!!!

My son and I went fishing with Captain Tony this morning and it was an excellent trip given the white caps and rough sea. We landed two very nice size barracudas and lost a few on the lines. He is very thoughtful in ensuring that my son was comfortable by recommending that he lied down and nap to ease the mild seasick. He took us to an area near Isla Blanca where the fish was biting even though it was far from Isla Mujeres even though we only booked a half-day trip. After the trip, he cleaned and filleted he fish and we took it back to Cancun and had the best ceviche. I would highly recommend Capitan Tony as we received an excellent fishing trip from someone who is very familiar with the water in the Yucatan.

Arrived at 8:30 & after snorkel gear/life jacket fitting we were on the way. The agenda was to head directly to Isla Contoy to see the birds, followed by lunch and a reef snorkel trip.

We were led by Noah & Alberto, Tony's nephew & brother. They were both friendly and able. After a one hour bumpy ride through 2 ft waves, we made it to Contoy. We were the first boat there and as it turned out, the smallest boat. At least the boat had a canopy & padded seats.

The strategy was sound. Our group of 7 was able to thoroughly check out the sights before the large tour boats from Cancun arrived. Although, we were a little disappointed in the limited amount of trails on the island, we were able to get very close to nesting frigate birds near the small boat dock. It was a cool sight to see them up close in their natural habitat. Also, the views from the tower were great.

By the time the other boats arrived, Noah & Alberto had prepared a delicious lunch. There are a lot of hermit crabs running around and we had some beach/shore snorkel/siesta time. On the way back, we stopped at a beautiful reef for snorkeling. Saw schools of literally thousands of fish. We also saw some large turtles on the way back..

Great way to spend the day.
