I found out about this place by doing some research on Trip Advisor and was impressed by the reviews, but always like to find things out for myself.

We booked our tickets via the website before our holiday, we were a little worried as it was a lot of money and were hoping that it would all go through OK. Well don't worry if this is what you decide to do as it was all processed fine. We actually got a better deal booking direct with them than we would have done booking via the rep in the resort.

We went with our two daughters aged 21 and 13 and in their words "It was the best day of our life!" The ferry was a short walk from our hotel and it was all organised well, on arrival we were given our wrist bands and escorted onto the ferry. Drinks were available on board. What I would say is that all drinks/meals were included in the price but this isn't always clear on board the ferry, however on the return trip which was a different boat, the staff kept bringing around beer and soft drinks for you during the trip back to Cancun.

On arrival at Isla Mujeres there were lots of staff welcoming you, only thing I would probably suggest and it's not a big thing but there were lots of people arriving and not really sure what to do, it would have been good if on arrival you were shown to a meeting point and the whole procedure explained, we had to find a lot of it out ourselves. However there are always lots of staff on hand to help. English is the language mainly spoken by all staff so there are no problems if your Spanish is a bit rusty.

All the pens were large and stretched out into the sea so the animals were in as natural a habitat as could be hoped, not a swimming pool in sight thank goodness!! well only for the humans! As you get off the boat you will go past all of these.

We were fitted with lifejackets and told to wait for our instructor. We did the Royal Swim which included the Manatees and Sea Lions, we went in with the manatees first and they were amazing, huge creatures but very gentle. We were in with Caesar and Sabina and they were adorable Anna was our instructor and she was great and gave us lots of information and made sure we all had fun along with copious supplies of lettuce which the manatees love!

The sea lion was next - Michelle! She was so funny and we had to hold a hoop while she jumped through and held up a ball for her to kiss, while she also did some singing and dancing. My two daughters loved her again Anna our instructor made it a fun experience whilst also telling us more about this very intelligent creature.

Lastly we went in with the dolphins - Atilla and Isamal. All I can say is that you will not be disappointed it was a very special experience meeting these amazing creatures. Our group had 12 in it but we all got to spend a decent amount of time with the dolphins. We were shown how to use sign language to ask the dolphin for a kiss and to dance. We also had the dorsal tow and the foot push, both incredible experiences! However if your a lady make sure your bikini is tight fitting, I opted for a swimsuit and was pleased! I was nervous about doing the foot push but don't be it's actually easier that you would think!

Once we finished we were allowed to use the facilities and we went to the restaurant and had lunch. Everything at the bar is priced which made us worried as we thought drinks were included, and they are you just go up and they will see what wrist band your wearing. You can also go snorkelling with the sharks and stingrays which was something we also enjoyed.

We'd read the reviews and were expecting the photos to be expensive and they are!! However we all felt that we couldn't let the day go without taking home some of the great pictures that were taken and they were very good!

All in all we had a lovely day at this magical place, we will have treasured memories which will last for many years to come. We did all this as part of my daughters 21st birthday but to see the smiles on both our daughters faces it was worth every penny.

If you go to Cancun make this trip a MUST DO!

Absolutely amazing! We did the Royal Swim and had such a great time. Fatima was one of our dolphins and they were both incredible and talented. Everything we did with the was so much fun, but the foot push was the highlight. The photographer took some fabulous pics, so we pruchased a package and the photobook; they were well worth the money.

Dolphin Discovery is amazing!! It is extremely clean, the employees there are extrememly knowlegable about all the animals on their property. We swam with the dolphins and mantities and had a blast! They also have swimming with sea lions too. Dolphin Discover, gave me and my husband memories that will last a life time. The only thing I wish was a little cheaper are the pictures they sell you interacting with the animals, they are expensive.

We visited Dolphin Discovery with a group including four adults and two children, ages seven and eight, the first week in November. The Dolphin Discovery was an amazing experience! The trip by boat to and from the island went smoothly. It was wonderful to see the dolphins playing in the water upon arrival to the park. Although after arrival it was a little crowded and overwhelming it soon settled down as people divided up for their swim experiences. We really enjoyed our time with Aaron and Valeria for our swim adventure. Our 8 year old had an amazing time. Our 7 year old has some fear in the water and did not participate in everything, but still had a fun time. I was impressed that they had a lifeguard come in to help her do the belly swim. Unfortunately this was her main interaction with the dolphins and was not caught on camera. Our pictures did not turn out really well, but despite the high price we decided to purchase them anyway as we may not have this experience again. The facilities here were beautiful. We also went over to Garrafon as part of our package. The facilities there were older, small, and unappealing. The times for the activities were inconvenient given our time of arrival to that part of the island. I would not return to Garrafon. I think our time and money would have been better spent being at Dolphin Discovery all day.

My son and I did the Royal Swim with the dolphins. It was a great experience for both of us. The "foot push" was memorable! Worth the extra money for the Royal Swim. The trainer (Marco?) was great, explaining things in both English and Spanish for the different members of the group. Dophins, Madonna and Zeus (?) were wonderful. There were a variety of activities with the dolphins and it was also fun to watch other people in the group. We also went down the road to the Sea Turtle "Nursery", which was very interesting.
