“Second Visit same as the first-Awesome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2013

This was the second year in a row we've stayed at Casa Sirena and it was as good as the first year except this visit was shorter, unfortunately. Steve Broin has figured out how to run a small boutique hotel. Everything is topnotch from the amazing breakfasts (he actually doesn't cook them himself but has a great staff) to the really fun happy hours at the rooftop bar (he actually does make the fabulous margaritas). There are only six rooms, four overlooking the Cancun side of the island and two overlooking the ocean side of the island. In addition to the usual amenities each room has a beach bag with beach towels to use at any of the numerous beach clubs on the island. If you are looking for a great little hotel, centrally located but quiet as well, check out Casa Sirena. You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Like an ocean view? Choose either # 6 or # 3. Like the Cancun side, choose from #'s 1,2,4 or 5.

My second visit, brought my fantastic girl friends with me. We stayed in room 3 which was just wonderful- the suite w/ a queen, two twins (or another queen) and the waves that you could hear even w/ the windows closed! Awesome, and loved that side of the casa. I was lucky enough to have stayed on opposite days of my first visit so got to experience a whole new set of unique and delicious breakfasts. The girls and I were talking on our last day and asked "what was the best part of the trip" and we all agreed it was happy hour w/ Steve:) Such a gracious host. We gave him a bottle of Tequial - Don Julio 1943 (I think thats it:) ) a small gift considering there was 5 of us going in on it- but you would have thought Steve was a little boy on Christmas morning! So funny but we all enjoyed watching him dance around this pretty bottle. We got a nice lesson on how to properly drink Tequila...... Steve... what you didn't see is we had to pour our shots in our margueritas! We are self proclaimed light weights:) but didn't want you to cringe at the waste:) lol very funny. Will send you pics for sure- Thanks to your wonderful staff and the other guests that we were so fortunate to spend our time with. We all look forward to another return and it can't come soon enough as I'm staring at cold, wet snow at the moment:) Have a wonderful 2013 and hope to see you in 2014- same time, same place:)

Room Tip: Room 3 was on the ocean side and offers a great breeze and you hear the loud waves crashing. The in...

Isla Mujeres is a great place for a girlfriend getaway! Glad you came back to Casa Sirena ( bearing gifts for the bartender!) and hope next year's visit will be even better!

Steve Broin's design for his B & B is not only an aesthetic view of his artistic Spanish styling through out the establishment, he has created an atmosphere for guests to join together in friendship, or vacation in privacy, by individual choice. We, chose to join in at happy hour each night to meet and enjoy other guests and an occasion, personable, Isla dweller. After the who's who and a couple of hours of continuous conversation flew by, some decided to dine with others and some went their own ways. Each morning at a delicious, freshly prepared and nicely displayed breakfast, guest found themselves planning various activities and exploration opportunities for the day. We looked forward to happy hour each evening to share in the adventures of the day and learn more about each other. Steve is a gifted host, he has chosen to provide his guests with more than a place to hang your hat. It is a place to enhance life's journey. His professionally tutored staff proactively cleans the entire facility to prevent the need for a guest to ask for an expected service. Each breakfast offered a new taste over our week long stay. To Steve, we say thank you for introducing us to Isla Mujeres, your pleasant, hard working staff, and the your guests who further enhanced the fun and laughs we enjoyed while staying at Casa Sirena. We'll be back. Bob & Cherie

Room Tip: Winter months offer strong wave action. So if you like the sound of continuous waves, it's wond...

We just completed our 8th visit to Casa Sirena and have booked our return visit for next year. Although we don’t define ourselves as creatures of habit, we have become such creatures when it comes to our winter getaway to Casa Sirena.

Steve Broin and his staff do everything right every day! From the delicious morning breakfast to the evening cocktail party, our days at Casa Sirena are stress free, relaxing and recharging. Except for making the nightly “where to go for dinner decision” with so many wonderful restaurants to choose from, this is the one place where we don’t have any arguments about how we will spend the day. We find ourselves quickly switching from "New York time" to operating on "Mexican time", which we credit to Steve. Gracias Steve for a wonderful stay--once again!

Room Tip: Each room is unique. Room #1 has an outside alcove which is wonderful for reading.

This place truly lived up to it's #1 status. It took us a couple of years to get a room here,(there are only 6.) Steve did everything right, down to the finest details. The breakfast was amazing, and the happy hour was wonderful with a panoramic view. We are non drinkers, and that didn't matter. Steve made us limonata's, alcohol free. What's included in the price is a great value. We also met some great people at the happy hours, and breakfasts, and Steve is a joy!
What a gem of a place he has created. The rooms are lovely, with colorful art throughout the hotel. It is intimate, charming, and so comfortable. I coudn't wait to see the different animal designs Cecilia would make on our bed with the towels everyday. We loved it so much, we are taking my mother and sister next year.
Thank-you Steve for creating such a wonderful place on my favorite island!

Casa Sirena is truly a gem--everything was wonderful--the common areas, the rooms, the food, the service, and the fellow clientele! I am still lamenting over the fact that I didn't stay there longer. We are typically the people that don't go to the same place twice because we want to see the world and experience new places...but I can safely say that I will definitely be back to Casa Sirena and Isla Mujeres. The restaurants, the beaches, the people...all wonderful! Steve is a smart business man and he knows how to run a quality B&B. He makes it look easy, but there is a lot of thought, planning, and discipline that goes into making Casa Sirena the wonderful place that it is. One of my favorite times each day was the happy hour--you get to hang out with Steve and meet your fellow guests. All were wonderful and I met some really nice and interesting people. See you soon Steve!

Room Tip: Pick the Caribbean side--then you can hear the waves and catch the ocean breezes.

My husband and I stayed here about five years ago and we loved our stay so much (we actually go engaged here) that we decided to go back with some friends. I was disappointed to hear that Steve, the hospitable owner, would not be there during our stay and would consequently not be able to hang out with us during the fabulous roof top happy hours but his substitutes (and believe me, no one call fill his shoes) were fantastic and equally hospitable. The location is great, just a short walk from restaurants and the beach. The rooms are nice, spare and modern. The breakfast is elaborate and delicious (it's no surprise they have published a cookbook) and it's always nice hanging out with the other guests. The roof top happy hour is definitely a highlight of the stay. They make some of the best margaritas. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate place with extremely friendly and helpful staff, you'll love Casa Sirena.

Sorry I was not around to welcome you back to the "scene of your engagement"... There is a page on our new web site under "Contact/Info" identifying which Innkeepers will be on duty in the coming year!
