Brisas Grill is a little fancier and it's a bit more expensive than the coctelerias but overall, I wasn't really impressed. I had the coconut shrimp, which was highly recommended to me, and it just did not live up to the hype.

The waiter was very nice...excellent service!

Stopped in for a cerveza while shopping and ended up eating lunch. They have a large selection of food but we chose the lobster. Very resonable price and the grilled lobster was simply amazing. The service was great and the beer was cold. This was our first visit to Brisas but will not be my last! Make sure when you rent your golf cart sto stop in and have some lunch!

We enjoyed two visits to Brisas recently. One was for cerveza's while shopping, and the other was for dinner on our last night on the island. The food was great, and the beer was cold. Service wasn't bad either. They offer beach seating and indoor seating with great views of the hustle and bustle of the north part of the island as well as beach views with the boats and fisherman coming in from the days activities.

We always eat at Brisas when we visit Isla Mujeres. On this visit we ate there twice and both times had the fish tic-n-chic for two. It's a traditional Mayan whole fish dish in which the fish is cut into two pieces and grilled, with onion, tomato and a Mayan red spice, achiote, and other spices. It's not hot, but flavorful and unlike anything we've ever had anywhere else. Note, this dish is served for two but can easily feed three or even four if you get a couple of dishes and share. It's adventurous because you're pulling meat off a whole fish, head, tail, fins and all-- so be careful of the bones and you'll end up eating a lot with your fingers. It takes 20-25 minutes to prepare so be patient, it's well worth the wait, and I recommend sitting where there is good lighting so you can see well as you pick over the numerous pieces and parts of the fish. This is the real deal, and not to be missed for a unique and delicious dining experience.

Based on the number and enthusiasm of reviews here, we were pretty unimpressed with Brisas. Service was good, and the drinks were cheap, but compared to so many options nearby, this was a letdown. The food was expensive (for Isla) and unexciting. We had lobster kebabs (not bad) and coconut shrimp (good coating, but flavorless shrimp). The highlight of the meal was actually the free appetizer: warm tortilla wedges with a spicy oil for dipping.
