This specially designed and appointed hotel is truly special.
It even has it's own bakery!
Ask to see Homy. She built the whole place!

We went to Merida to see Sarah Brightman, she sings like a bird, out of this world. Trip was great and the hotel was fantastic.

Staff is wonderful, always smiling, in a good mood and ready to help. The place was full with people from Europe, Canada and Americans and i must say it was fun, they even prepared a drink to take care of my hang over.

Beds are very comfortable, the place is inmaculate.

Thanks guys, hope to see you again soon

Nice hotel in Merida. About a ten minute walk to the central plaza area. The hotel itself is located at the end of the Paseo Montejo, which has several restaurant selections. The hotel is very well maintained and was quiet and nearly empty when I visited.

The rooms are adequately sized, with a very comfortable bed and a hammock strung next to it. Flat screen TVs and a good sized bathroom were also positives. The shower has small stones embedded in the floor, which are set a little high and aren't the most comfortable on your feet. That's the closest to a complaint I would have.

The staff was friendly and helped arrange for a taxi and reservations at a restaurant. The price for the hotel was the highest we paid in the Yucatan, but it seemed reasonably priced for the level of accomodation. Do recommend this one.

I love this "boutique" type hotel. Even though the staff could speak English, they tolerated my bad Spanish because I wanted the practice. They were very patient with me. The lobby is a beautiful, open-air courtyard. My room was on the ground floor with 20-foot (at least) ceilings. The owner, Senor Alberto, greeted me by name when I was working on my laptop in the lobby. He took the time to tell me about the interesting history of the building.
15 rooms total. 3 downstairs. Restaurant.. Wireless internet in the lobby. Flat screen TV. AC. Hammock in the room, if needed (I didn't try it). Big comfortable bed. It was so big, that there was a 2-step riser to assist getting in and out.

We stayed at the Hotel Casa San Angel while in Merida for a friend's wedding. As we were coming in and out of Merida, we booked a hotel she recommended without doing much research. When we arrived, we realized how lucky we were. This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at, anywhere, ever. This 2 year old, 15 room small boutique hotel is the best of all worlds- it is comfortable, clean, as it is stylish. It is very beautifully designed (from the same architects that designed the nice upscale haciendas around the country). The attention paid to every detail shows and makes staying at the hotel a very pleasant experience. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. When we were trying to get a taxi on Sunday and could not, the owner offered to take us to the bus station. And the cafe has high quality baked goods, lunch, dinner (the cafe is a well known bakery/coffee shop before the owner expanded and rehabbed the space to include a hotel). I was impressed at how centrally located this hotel was, and, yet it manages to be in a quiet location. We plan to come back again to Merida and stay at this hotel. It is truly one of the best hotel stays I have had.

My husband, daughter and I made the trip to Merida to drop off our daughter at a nearby language school. We were already on vacation and staying in the Maya Riveriera. After a long drive to Merida, this place was wonderful!! When we arrived our room was cooled down for us and it was lovely. We had to locate the school, but were unable to find it, so the concierge actually drove with us and directed us. The staff were wonderful, the service superb, and the desserts were great too! We were on vacation for two weeks and we had just come from a five star resort and the service at Casa San Angel exceeded the service at the resort. The short stay we had in Merida was actually the best part of our vacation!!
