“The great reviews are certainly true.”

Jan and Rita are absolutely wonderful hosts, and although we only stayed the one night a couple of weeks ago, they made us feel very welcome and looked after us almost like family.

We arrived completely knackered from a day at Chichen Itza etc., and they sat us down at the poolside table for a welcome drink, ordered us some great Mexican food for dinner and gave us the complete low down on the surrounding areas. (thankfully Rita warned us about the 'Mayan teacher' who knows where to get the 'good' souvenirs)

The suite was very spacious and comfortable - the bathroom was the size of a small apartment!

I usually can't be bothered doing reviews but I actually just reset my (forgotten) password to make sure they get my review - they deserve it!

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the upstairs suites with the hot tub. Very comfortable, would definitely choose...

my wife and I spent the last night of our 8 days home looking excursion at this lovely hotel, was an outstanding job at remodelling ,this hotel is only a few streets away from the bustling buzy section and sits on a quiet street nuzzled between some homes that need a face lift ,or something at least, the minute you walk thru the front gate you are not only met by one of the owners but by lovely colours and exceptional decorating,it has a small bar with nice sitting area,a perfect sized pool, and a great layout for the rooms,we had a king suite terrace room,it was fantastic ,we also had our own private outdoor patio with chairs, the room is laid out well with a bar fridge and sofa bed if needed, the bed itself was very comfortable, very nice room furniture and a great tv with a a good selection,it has room a/c and a great sized bathroom, both owners are very friendly and have a great spot for people to enjoy, this is a must see and stay place, they even arranged our morning cab to the airport ,a few blocks walking and you have numerous shops and restaurants, this was agreat way to end our trip, but like always you stay and see for yourselves..

Room Tip: I do not think there is a bad room anywhere here

We stayed here for 3 days and enjoyed every minute. Jan and Rita and the rest of the staff are very friendly and offer excellent & relaxing hospitality. Gave us the best local info for day trips, restaurants and things to do in and around Merida. This place has the feel of a B&B catering to couples. May not be the best place to bring a large family with teenagers, but we prefer that. You can tell they enjoy making sure their guests are comfortable, relaxed and happy. The pool was awesome and my wife and I had it to ourselves in the heat of the day everyday of our stay. Rooms with large bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Ideally located along a quiet architecturally scenic area 10 minute walking distance from restaurants, shopping and sites in Merida. We enjoyed our breakfast in the mornings on the patio every morning. Would define go back to stay here and recommend to friends.

A great, conveniently located B&B. My companion and I stayed there in February 2014. The owners and live in managers, Jan and Rita, are excellent hosts. They designed the B&B for comfort and style. They maintain all of the facilities to a high standard. Beautiful and lively downtown Merida was only a short walk through a quiet neighborhood. Great couple! Jan and Rita will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. After welcoming you with a drink and a tray of fresh fruits, one of them sits down to tell you about what is interesting to see in town, or to give you directions, or answer any questions you may have. Merida is jewel of a city that maintains strong connections to its culture. Uxmal and Celestun are a short drive, do not miss them. Breakfasts were good with local delicacies and talking with the other guests adds to the experience. Every morning at breakfast and every afternoon, Rita prepared her beautiful refreshing tray of fruits.

We had booked to stay in Merida for one night. We took one look at the hotel and changed our plans to stay for one extra night. Hotel Merida Santiago is THAT nice and the owners are THAT helpful and friendly! The homemade breakfast is an added highlight!

Amazing hosts who properly welcomed us and helped us with travel plans and restaurant recommendations.

Courtyard area was fabulous, and rooms were very comfortable. Only a few blocks walk from the zocalo.

Recommended, great value. No regrets.

The hotel itself was fantastic. jan and Rita were amazing and really made this the best hotel we stayed at in our 12 days in Mexico! Staying here and taking their advice about what to see and their assistance booking things made our stay perfect.
