Hotel is located in the hearth of Merida in close proximity to most of the places one should see while in Merida. It has big and stylish entrance so you surely will not miss it. One of the best aspects of this hotel is the staff... during our check in we met Pablo, who is I believe an bellboy in the hotel, while we waited for the other guests to finish checking in we talked to him and he was absolutely amazing...told us a bit about the hotel, the city, himself and his heritage and it was the most warm and friendly start to our stay we have ever experienced, he even offered us some traditional sweets. That same happy feelings have translated into our rooms as well. They are big(much bigger than we anticipated) and were spotlessly clean. Bed was nice and comfortable as well. The only thing that could be the problem in the future is the fact that even now you can see that the rooms are a bit dated and could use some renovation. For now it is nothing too noticeable nor it will affect your stay but if they don't upgrade the rooms in the future I believe that it could become a problem.
Anyhow due to the staff especially Pablo and our housekeeper Josefina we would definitely return to this hotel because they made us feel really welcome and we enjoyed our stay there.
Small tip as well...try and not to dine at the restaurant in the lobby because the food there was truly appalling.

Average hotel, looks grand style at the entrance and is very average level afterwards. Bedrooms and bathrooms not clean, swimming pool not clean either but of good size, elevators not well maintained. Towels old and ripped off. Location ok. We made a complain to the front desk.

We are building a house in the Merida area and like to stay near downtown when we go down there. We found that the Mision Hotel is our favorite for the following reasons. 1) it has the best pool, large enough to swim around in, most are small splash pools. 2) the breakfasts are really good 3) close enough to central, but not so close that there is a ton of noise 3) rooms are comfortable for and more than adequate. If you want the old Spanish look with windows etc.. you will either pay more or may have to deal with plaster falling onto your bed. Thank you Pablo for all of your advice and help, thank you Laura at front desk for excellent service and quick and timely checkouts (no confusion), also special thanks to Kevin for your service and insights into Mexico in general. Great staff, this is our go to hotel we have stayed at four other hotels, some more expensive and others less expensive. The less expensive are too noisy (groups of kids in pool), the more expensive had more interesting rooms (maybe 30% - 40% more expensive), but we were out and about site seeing and appreciated the nice clean room. We had great service, and spent time in the pool when it got hot. We enjoyed a massage and facials too.

The hotel is housed in a wonderful building and the staff were excellent throughout our stay! The room was spacious and clean and there was on site parking. Perfect for a stay in Mérida and walking distance to all amenities!
