“excellent adventure”
Reviewed 15 March 2012

The company responded quickly to our emails that we sent between flights on our way to Merida and we were able to line up a tour for the morning after we arrived. We hit the ground running as we meet to start our 9:30 am tour. George was an enthusiastic guide and we were able to get a quick lay of the land near the Gran Plaza and toured a market that we might have bypassed. We found out something about eggs that we had never know before!! We took a short bus ride to Laura's home and Laura and George assisted us in preparing a wonderful Yucatan lunch where we had time to learn and ask more questions.

“Carnival and all, it was terrific.”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

I was here at Carnival time and I must say that despite the crowds (which which I usually don't do well) the people, both locals and tourists, were incredibly well-behaved and just lovely to interact with.

“Awesome tours, friendly guides, hosts!”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

My companion and I did the Mayan Biking Adventure tour as well as the Taste of Yucatan tour and we thorougly enjoyed both!

For the Mayan Biking Adventure, it was just my companion and I, and our tour guide was very friendly and informative. She was from Italy and was full of knowledge and information. Our tour had lunch included with a local and the food was excellent!

For the Taste of Yucatan tour, again we had an excellent tour guide and the cook was a young, tiny, petite lady. Who would have known she could cook so well. We felt very comfortable with our tour guide, cook, and the owner of Merida Urban Adventures.

These are definitely 2 tours worth doing in Merida.

“An excellent cooking course and food adventure.”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

We loved going to the local market, learning all about the local foods and purchasing them. Cooking up a huge meal including drinks and dessert at the home of a local was a great experience and it all tasted fantastic. Meeting other foodies from around the world, cooking with them and sharing our ideas and opinions was all part of the wonderful day.

“Great tour of the market and cooking in local home.......”
Reviewed 26 January 2012

Really fun day. We went to the market to purchase the items to make for lunch. Had a nice stroll all around the market and sampled different items. Jorge our guide was fun and informative. He speaks fluent English. We then took the local bus to Luis' house (the owner of the tour company) and cooked with Jorge and Luis' wife Laura and made a wonderful lunch. Even did hand made tortillas. Would suggest to anyone who enjoys food and wants an interesting different local experience. Not expensive at $39USD per person.(we also tipped Jorge). My only suggestion would be to sharpen the knives or buy better ones. They were dangerously dull. Had a wonderful day and would do again. Cheers and Happy eats
