My wife and I like to visit Merida and stayed at the Hotel Hacienda VIP for three reasons. It is close to downtown, which makes it easy to walk and enjoy Merida's street and nightlife. The street front does not reveal its actual colonial style mansion architecture. Once inside you find yourself in a different time.
My wife loves it and I like to get lost in time. It is a newly remodeled 1820 historical home, with only 4 bedrooms, so privacy and quietness is what you get. Ask for a room in the back!
We did not use the pool but enjoyed the breakfast right next to it. It is recommended to bring mosquito repellent. Parking is included and just around the corner.
A great place to stay and disconnect. We loved it and will definitely be back.More
