“Quiet and beautiful hotel in central Mérida”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

Atmospheric hotel in old colonial-style with spacious, nicely designed rooms, extraordinary service and very friendly personnel; we loved to start our days with delicious breakfast in the green and quiet court and then either headed to the city by foot or to the various places of interest in the region by car - we would have loved to stay longer!

We had 5 nights here and loved it. This family run hotel does all the things that matter well and skips the things that don't ( TV).
It's well situated in the centro historica. The rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds, some with aircon and a fan. Most overlook a lovely courtyard and there is a nice pool to cool off in. There is a fresh water dispenser so that you can top up your water bottles and reduce the amount of plastic. Wifi works everywhere. The staff are great and Nicole and her husband couldn't have been more helpful with advice eg. how to sort the local bus service to get to Uxmal and all Nicole's restaurant recommendations were spot on.
Breakfast is included in the tariff and usually consists of lovely fresh fruit with yoghurt followed by a variety of nice breads and spreads and decent coffee or tea and fresh fruit juice.
They do dinner too ( vegan) tasty and more a modest price.
This place was the perfect base and really made our stay in Merida.

Nicole and Nelson are amazing hosts. Their son was also a gem and was great fun to chat with. This is a family that truly enjoy people and helping them have the best vacation ever. Nicole arranged a taxi to take us to Playa del Carmen as well as suggesting many touristy things to do in Merida. This B and B has a delightful oasis courtyard in the back where we enjoyed a wonderful healthy breakfast. Nelson was hilarious and we really enjoyed his wonderful sense of humour! Don't miss staying here, it is a magical place tucked quietly away from the business of the downtown core and a restful and peaceful environment. What we loved a great deal is not having TV's and that meant back to basics of human interactions! Thanks to your family for making such a wonderful holiday in Merida. We will be back.

Room Tip: The wonderful breezes coming in mean you don't need the air con!

We stayed here our first night in Mexico, so we had a long flight behind us followed by a domestic flight from Mexico City. The owner stayed up until 0.30 am to receive us with a smile, and we were shown right to a very cosy room. No AC, but we knew that from booking, and with open windows and the fan running we were very comfortable. It really was just what a couple of jetlagged first day tourists needed. Breakfast the next morning was also perfect, the fruit platter cannot be beaten. We were going onward the same day, and they kept our luggage for us while we had a full day of sightseeing before the bus left. Would most definitively stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights in February. We had our flights through Atlanta canceled and all our dates had to be rearranged. Nicole worked with us to make sure we had rooms. We did have to use 3 different rooms but that was no big deal. It did give a look at more than one. I can tell you as a frequent traveler in Mexico that this Hotel is a winner all around. Great location, large rooms, clean and a great and large staff. Someone is available 24 hours a day. They have also opened a Vegan restaurant on the Patio at night. We are not Vegans or Vegetarians but tried the food two nights and the food was very good
Breakfasts every morning was fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, sweet breads, cheese and very good coffee
Would go back in a minute. Excellent service all around..

This is a great hotel! Very colourful and beautifully decorated, just 5-10 minutes walk to the main square. They offer parking, which is just two block away. The check-in was fast and friendly. Our room was large and pleasant. It was nice to wake up to a delicious breakfast in the beautiful lush and colourful yard. You just can not be in a bad mood in such a place!

We stayed only two nights there on our tour though Yucatan and I wish we would have stayed longer! The building's style is truly beautiful with flowers and colors everywhere, the rooms are very spacious and wonderfully decorated, and there are personal touches everywhere from the owner Nicole who by the way welcomed us almost like family members and gave us many useful tips about Merida and the trip we made to Uxmal! The location is perfect, just few blocks from the very trafficked plaza mayor, we didn't have any problem in finding a parking spot right in front, from there you can walk anywhere (it's very safe). Breakfast was included and delicious, the service was impeccable.
