Set in the old town, a 10-15 min from the city centre, Casa del Maya was a real highlight to our trip. What set it apart from other places we stayed was the attention to detail - in terms of the provisions for the rooms, the pool and outdoor space the sumptuous breakfasts - I can never have a Starbucks cinnamon roll after the most amazing fresh ones served up here! Steve was a great host; very knowledgeable about local attractions and restuarants and catered to all our needs!

We had a wonderful stay. The place is at walking distance from Merida centre and the main attractions. Steve always had good advises for restaurants, museums and so on, he definitely knows the place. We were also able to book a tour for Uxmal last minute trough the B&B, which was particularly nice (thanks again!). Breakfast was awesome. A good place to stay in Merida.

Our stay at Casa del Maya was perfect within the "imperfection". The place is a quiet retreat just a few blocks away from the Centro de Merida. The rooms are impeccable, the garden and pool immaculate and breakfast was always fresh and lovingly made. The hosts, Steve and Jordy are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Merida, who needs Lonely Planet when you have amazing hosts! Unfortunately, my husband came down ill and that slowed the pace of our visit. However, Jordy and Steve were great at looking after us, compassionate and caring. Many thanks to Gaspar too. I am pleased to see that locals are also part of this business. We will talk about Casa del Maya here in New Zealand!

Room Tip: We stayed at Itzamna room. The mattresses are fantastic. The room is at the back of the property...

We enjoy meeting people from all over the world. Someday we would like to visit all the places from where we have had guests. But for now the world comes to us, and we love it. Hope to see you again!

Steve and Jordy were amazing hosts! They are so welcoming and you can tell that they love hosting people from all over the world. The food was excellent (omg the cinnamon rolls...) and their customer service is unbeatable. I already told my mom next time we visit family in Merida, we're staying at this b&b. I need to look no further. Thanks again guys!

I stayed with Jordy and Steve for 3 weeks in June and July 2014. I could not have asked for a better location, comfort, food or overall hospitality. My room was comfortable and had all I needed, the breakfasts were the best, but the homemade cinnamon rolls are the tastiest I've ever had, made fresh daily by Jordy. If I had a question about anything from restaurants, shopping, bus lines or planning sight seeing tours Steve was the source and he never failed me. I valued their guidance which resulted in me have a first class experience. I would recommend their property to anyone desiring a truly great experience. I will return to Casa de Maya as soon as I can.
Peter

This is really a great place to stay. Jordy and Steve were very helpful, knowledgable, and accommodating hosts with plenty of recommendations for food and places to see. Especially the restaurants they recommended were excellent. The breakfast was outstanding. Try the cinnamon buns! Attention to little yet pleasant details such as the supply of water bottles available in the entrance area, make this place stand out.

The place is very tastefully furnished and decorated, a nice blend between traditional and modern elements. It should be highlighted that the garden looks much greener now than on most of the photos found on the booking sites. The location is about 10 minutes from the main square making it still convenient to walk everywhere, yet pleasantly quiet compared to the centre. Parking on the street was no problem.

We had 3 rooms and we all loved the place... very friendly and comfortable. Great restaurants nearby, the best we went to was Apoala (food was best we had in Yucatan). Walking distance to most areas and everywhere we walked seemed very safe. The complex itself is very tropical with first class amenities. Breakfasts were great start to the day, and filled us up for hours. Will definitely return next time we visit Merida.

Room Tip: The back upstairs room, I think it was Xatche made us feel like we were in a treehouse... very cool

One of the things we are most proud of at Casa Del Maya is our centralized location. You are just a few minutes walk to Paseo de Montejo, Santa Ana park, Santa Lucia park, the Main Square, and all the museums, restaurants, and shops in-between. And yet you can enjoy a quiet night's sleep away from the late-night bars and other goings-on. Hope to see you again at Casa Del Maya.
