“Very charming!”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Very charming place in the center of Merida.
English speaking and very helpful stuff.
Celebrated me and my girlfriends birthday here and we could not ask for more!

Only a fan, not any air-condition in the room maid it pretty warm during the nights beacuse of the warm climate.
The pool could have been cleaner.

Shortly you get very much for small money!

This place is perfectly located in central Merida, minutes from the main plaza and Chaya Maya.

Our room did feel a bit small and the bed was firm but there is a delightful ambience about the place and Patricia the hostess is totally charming and will advise you where to eat and where to visit. The sunday classical concert was superb.

The breakfast was outstanding and the staff delightful.

Excellent value so close to the centre of things.

I havae been in Merida many times, and stayed at various hotels and B&Bs. Casa Carmita is the best. The location is superb, downtown within walking distance, the rooms are wonderful, the patio delightful, and the breakfasts to die for! I will definitively be back.

Room Tip: All rooms are great.

Casa Carmita is a well located B&B not far from the centre of town and close to good bars and restaurants. Our room was pretty basic (ceiling fan on A/C) but comfortable and for the price very good value. The rate included a decent breakfast (fresh fruit salad, yogurt, a hot dish, juice and coffee) and use of the small but very nice pool. The B&B also has decent wi-fi.

The B&B also doubles up as a Day Spa with a host of treatments available. We opted for massages which were great and, again, very good value. It was nice way to kill a couple of hours.

A few small issues were the damp in the room meant that the paint kept peeling off the walls. The room wasn't cleaned once during our three night stay and we had to ask for toilet paper, fresh towels and for our bin to be emptied. Other rooms were cleaned so we may just have slipped through the net. Finally the shower was a little hit and miss.

That said the staff were friendly and Patricia is a great host. She is very knowledgable about the area. For the location at that price you'd be hard pushed to find anything better.

The place is clean and for being in town, it was so peaceful and quiet. No dogs barking, no roosters crowing and no cars honking their horns!
Patricia was delightful. She helped in any way she could. We had secure parking, she had our clothes laundered and I was able to get a wonderful pedicure at her spa! She provided a wonderful breakfast in the morning and all the coffee we could drink. We were able to walk everywhere but taxis were available too.
She allowed our dog, Bentley to be here too! Thank you Patricia for a great stay at Casa Carmita!

My most recent visit of (8) days at Casa Carmita was comfortable and enjoyable. Located just two blocks for the busy center of Merida, with many restaurants, museums, parks, and shopping areas, this hotel affords a convenient and peaceful location with a family atmosphere. Rooms are well decorated, clean, and comfortable......and the Jacuzzi pool is a wonderful point of relaxation! The centro area offers excellent musical and cultural events, including the Yucatan Symphony and free musical performances at Auditorio Olimpo on the Zocalo, five minutes away. Our host, Patricia, provides good information about tourist events and locations, and makes arrangements for parking, calling taxis, or reservations. The breakfast prepared and served by Priscilla includes a variety of excellent foods, prepared in delicious Yucatecan style, or made to order. The SPA includes modern and sparkling clean equipment, and is well managed by Guadalupe, always with a smile and great attitude.
Overall, Casa Carmita is a great value of comfort and service when visiting Merida!!

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are more convenient when handling luggage, upper floor offers a better view of th...

Great value for money. Solidly build Mexican style rooms cooled by a ceiling fan. There is a delightful breakfast area outside under cover where we were served coffee, juice and a different plate of nice food each day. The beds were comfortable and our wishes were catered to exactly when we needed an extra bed in the room. You can sleep peacefully without traffic noise as you are away from the street. Our room was single level on the ground floor and some rooms were available in a double storey section. The address of this hotel is correct, but there is no sign advertising it on the street. Our host was a kind and gentle woman who welcomed us even though we arrived late, and she made an effort to tell us about Merida and surrounds. There will be a swimming pool available for use when it is completed in the coming months, which will be lovely as the weather is really warm!

Room Tip: Both ground floor corner rooms are worth recommending but I didn't see inside the upstairs ones.
