The best Italian food in Mexico, great service and atmosphere! Get there early! Merida has so much to offer, the chef from Rome whips up some fabulous pasta! Strongly recommend!

“Great taste”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

I went here to get some dinner, I was feeling a little sick, so I had to keep it simple. I would go here again to enjoy the kitchen, it is a cozy little place and the food tastes great.

“Best mozzarella this side of Napoli”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

This is a tiny restaurant with big heart and food you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. As the title suggests the mozzarella is to die for. I wasn't surprised to find it was imported from Napoli Italy. Next we thoroughly enjoyed the tuna tartar and a third appetizer of prosciutto ham. We topped our dinner with a lamb ragu over angel hair. Overall an awesome experience.

“Amazing Italian Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

My boyfriend visited Oliva on a recent trip and loved it, so we went together on our next trip to Merida and the food is wonderful. The restaurant is tiny....only 7 tables and seating at the bar for 3 people. And they don´t take reservations, so arrive before 8pm if you want a seat. We had the meatball appetizer....the sauce was slightly salty (maybe too much cheese?) but the meatballs were light and delicious. We shared the paloma salad...the ingredients were fresh and delicious. He had the ravioli with goat cheese....the sauce was yummy but the pasta was ever so sightly underdone. I had the rosemary pasta.....incredibly rich ...the homemade pasta was perfect. With a bottle of wine and creme brulee for dessert, the bill came to about $90 (with tip). This is pricy for Merida, but not pricy for the quality of food. This is a must stop.

“Excellent ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

Great Italian food! We had the bruchettas to share and some of the pastas. Everything was very well-made. We came on a wednesday and got 25% off on the wines!

The interiour was very cosy and well decorated. It's a small place for 15-20 people I think.

We were lucky to instantly get 5 seats. During our visit multiple people waited outside. As mentioned this is a small place so perhaps it is better to call in advance.

Really good place for a romantic dinner or a cozy meal with friends or family!
