After a bumpy trip down the potholed road leading to the hotel (which, to be honest, had us a bit worried!), we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Le Reve - those who brave the terrible road will be rewarded. However, those looking for a beach where they can run into the water barefoot should steer well clear: it's quite rocky around the hotel and you'll need to wear shoes in the water to avoid cutting up your feet.

Overall though, if you're looking for seclusion, privacy and relaxation, this is the place. We spent four nights at Le Reve and took advantage of their amazing complimentary honeymoon package (email hotel before your stay to get it). As part of the package we were upgraded to the best available room, which happened to be Troncones, the master suite. The room was enormous, with a bathroom and balcony to match. We felt truly spoilt by all the space and the views over the resort and the sea.

The massages (good, but not the best we've had), breakfast in bed, dinner on the beach (3 courses with wine and our own personal waiter), breakfasts, turn-down service (including rose petals on our first night), personalised bathrobes (with our names, to take home) and more included in the honeymoon package were all luxurious and delivered effortlessly throughout our stay. All honeymooners also get a personalised stone on the hotel's 'walk of fame' to commemorate their stay and a discount on future stays.

As I said, the beach isn't great for swimming, but we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves anyway. We had the hotel nearly to ourselves because it was low season, so the sense of seclusion and privacy was perhaps even greater than usual.

Even though the hotel only has 25 rooms, the restaurant is excellent and serves up quality dishes a reasonable prices. The grounds are lush and kept well maintained. My husband appreciated the small gym they have on site as well.

We experienced excellent service for the duration of our stay. We found the staff to be helpful and unobtrusive. Sometimes it felt as if they were trying to stay out of the way a bit too much, but we appreciated not being asked every ten minutes if we'd like something. They were always there when we needed something, but not hanging around and eyeing us like hawks all the time.

All in all Le Reve is a great place to stay if you're after privacy and seclusion, but not if you want a beach for swimming and easy access to the nightlife in Playa del Carmen. Perfect for couples - and honeymooners should definitely check out the free packages on offer.

Room Tip: The master suites are top-notch, but those on a tighter budget should check out the beach-front room...

My husband and I visited Le Reve after moving two children out of our house (ahh, empty nest). Between two weekends of moving and busy work schedules, we weren't prepared for how perfect Le Reve was for us. We were waited on hand and foot. The food is among the best I have eaten, the staff is so accommodating. We loved staying on the grounds and ventured out once, only to hurry back to Le Reve! We would love to return.

I recently stayed here for three days and it was a great place to come back to after full-days of siteseeing. The atmosphere of the hotel is luxurious but its small and intimate. You will see the same staff every day and the same hotel guests. For such a small place I was not expecting much, but it provides better service, food, and great amenities compared to bigger resorts in Playa del Carmen. The views are really nice with excellent sunsets that make for great dinners directly on the beach. Stay here, really.

Room Tip: have your meals at the on-site restaurant

Le Reve Hotel exceeded my expectations with the food, service and beauty of the grounds. This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in and will definitely be back! I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway.

My wife and I chose Le Reve based on recommendations. Once we arrived, we immediately understood what separated this hotel from every other one that we saw during our trip. The experience was utterly romantic, intimate, and special because of how the hotel and everyone working there created this setting. We had an incredible concierge named Janina who immediately set the tone when we arrived. Many others, including Ismael and Freddy made our dining experiences very special. We can't recommend Le Reve highly enough. We will definitely return here.

We stayed at Le Reve for four nights, we had the Garden room with a small patio and secluded garden. The room looked a little outdated, but it was kept clean. The door didn't have any screen, at the time of our visit there were a lot of mosquitos in the little tub next to the patio, so we had to keep the door closed all the time.m
The restaurant offered good selection for all of the different meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
The beach is nice but the entrance into the water is rocky. You can walk just few minutes in either direction and you will find some nice beaches with no rocks or corals. The infinity pool is great with a nice poolside bar. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Le Reve is a great small Boutique hotel for people who want to escape the hectic days at home and office, those looking for some peace and quiet. The rooms do not have television. I believe there was wi-fi in the lobby area.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We signed up for the "World's Best Anniversary Package." The hotel is very small. It really should not use the word "Spa in its title. There is no real spa. Just an outdoor space above a terribly out-dated gym where you can get services by someone they bring into the hotel to do the treatment. Included in our package was one massage. It was good. But if I had to pay out-of-pocket for it, I would have been sorely disappointed. She arrived late. I watched her set up using old, tattered towels to cover a somewhat beat-up massage table. She pulled various bottles of lotions and oils out of her purse. All in all, it seemed like a shady experience. Plus she spoke no English, so I had a hard time communicating with her. After, she made it a point that she expected a tip. Everyone at Le Reve was very, very nice. I can't deduct points for service. The menu was OK. We got very tired of seeing it day after day. Definitely not a place for those who like to try different things everyday. I'm a huge fan of fruit. It was like pulling teeth to get the amount I craved. Some days the mango was sour, other days they had no papaya. All in all, a big disappointment in the fruit department. Ceviche was a big hit though. High marks for that. Our day in town, Playa del Carmen, was much needed. If it was easier to get to town -- i.e. unlimited free taxi rides to and fro -- we would have gone more than once, for sure. The room was nice. But we were shocked to see no door for the toilet! Is it too much to ask for a door to the toilet space? A little privacy, please. And the water pressure was horrible. Plus it took a long time for the hot water to arrive. Towels were old, a little ratty. Tiny bugs were always crawling around the counter top. It was a losing battle trying to get rid of them. Eventually, we just lived with them. We stayed on the top floor in the corner room. The bungalows by the beach seemed too dark, small and damp for us. Yes, we know that this is a place to choose if you want to unplug. But it was so quiet, we really craved a tv in our room. There's nothing to do after dinner. Even watching a Spanish show would have been a nice distraction. If it weren't for free wi-fi, I think we would have lost our minds. Bring a lot of books. In the end, we enjoyed relaxing by the pool and listening to the ocean which was very close to the pool's edge. But, by the end of our four-night stay, we were ready to go home. They never gave us our "Special Gift" upon departure. So I guess we'll never know what that was. Won't come back here. Too quiet. NOT a spa. (That gym was so bad, it's comical!) Not for us.

Room Tip: Top floor corner room with balcony is a must.

Thank you for taking the opportunity to share your experience on Trip Advisor, it is greatly appreciated. We feel honored you chose Hotel Le Reve & Spa as your 10th anniversary destination. Certainly Le Reve hotel is considered one of the most charming and romantic boutique hotels at the Riviera Maya, ideal for honeymooners and anniversaries. Le Reve is a very young property and we are working to improve all our services daily. We deeply apologize for the inconveniences at the Spa, we are very happy to inform to you that we are launching our indoor & air-conditioning Spa pavilion very soon, however the secret of our Spa services are based on the experience, we offer spa treatments in the privacy of some of the rooms, under the stars or at the open Spa Pavilion next to the beach. We regret not having been able to deliver the Spa service you were expecting from us and which normally exceeds our guests expectations. The necessary actions are being taken to guarantee the continuity of the hotel’s services at all times. For some reason your "Special Gift” did not arrive to your hands, please give me the opportunity to ship it directly to you,
Thanks again for your review; we assure your feedback will be taken into consideration.
