My husband and I spent a week at Le Reve (2/7 - 2/14) and fell in love. The hotel is a little hard to find...but..once you do you know you have found a piece of paradise.... The hotel is an oasis of peace and calm. The rooms are beautiful and invite you to completely relax. We had a suite with a terrace which overlooked the pool and beach. I believe most if not all of the rooms do. The terrace needed an umbrella but really that is all! The beach is a great walking beach in either direction... going south you will find more secluded beachs and coves while north are more of the resorts...either way you come back to your little hideaway. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating...the food was good - although we ate most dinners in town or at the resort restaurants - breakfast and lunch were perfect. We enjoyed an amazing tiki torch dinner for two on the beach which was amazing... ask for the special Maya Margarita and enjoy this incredible escape! The only area that needed help was the gym as the equipment needed to be updated...but we were on vacation and walks on the beach were much more fun anyway!

You can't actually swim at the beach in front of this beautifully designed hotel because the foreshore is coral and rock. A walk down the beach means a view of chicken wire fences or huge resorts - there are far prettier stretches of beach further south.

At such an expensive venue we should not have had to listen to elevator music from the bar or landscaping equipment at 8 a.m.

The food is fancy but not very good quality and fairly expensive. And the place is much too hard to find - needs a more visible sign.

My husband, his brother and I took a quick trip to le Reve to celebrate my birthday. The only thing we regret is that we couldn't spend more time there. From the minute we arrived, we were treated like royalty. Reception was quick, friendly, but casual. We were put at ease immediately even though the weather was windy and rainy. No worry, the next 3 days were perfect and so was our service. The food was above average (we ate every meal there) and the service in the restaurant was six star. Our every request was granted. The beach was beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs, palapas for shade, and food service on the beach. The rooms were good too--not six star, but very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We slept like babies. I hope I don't have to wait until my next birthday to return to le Reve!

So here we are in freezing Colorado, and we need a break. We locate Le Reve on line and decide to go for it. What a magnificent find. The beautiful and appealing design is an airy blend of Mayan and contemporary details which, combined with the small size, create a stunning space in which we felt relaxed and well cared for. Warm, friendly and helpful staff. A beautiful, private place with a lovely infinity pool, beach and caribbean sea. Spacious, attractive and clean rooms, ocean views, great robes and towels, and many thoughtful details. A super complementary breakfast, with fresh fruit, and much, much more. We loved it.

My wife and I and our extended family stayed at Le Reve between Christmas and New Years and it was fantastic. The fact that it was located down a narrow road off the beaten path just added to the atmosphere. The layout, with the zig-zag infiinity pool extending from the middle of the property out to the beach was perfect. The staff knew our names and our favorite drinks before the first day was over. The food, especially the seafood, was exceptional. Much better and much less expensive than the meals we ate at nearby hotels and in town. If you're looking for a peaceful, tranquil place to stay, far from the crowds, with fantastic food Le Reve is it.
