“Ajua, Ajua”
Reviewed 13 April 2013

I celebrated my 75th birthday dinner here and it was a treat. The menu satisfied everyone's palette. The waiters are the entertainment. They bring you your drinks stacked on their heads. They laugh and tease and make dining a pleasant experience. Courses are prepared tableside which is always fun. I would suggest that you stick to the Mayan dishes as these were definitely the winners at our table. The soup was exquisite. One good thing was that they served the children first which we appreciated.

“Amazing food experience”
Reviewed 12 April 2013

Restaurant was recommended to us - service top notch from beginning to end - you have to try the ceasar salads made table side - no bacon but very delicious. 2 of our entree's were also made tableside - amazing. To wrap up the evening i highly recommend you order one of the specialty coffees - this too made table side with an awesome display by staff. A bit pricey but not too bad - would highly recommend

“Ajua. Perfect in every way”
Reviewed 8 April 2013 via mobile

We had the pleasure of an al freso dinner at Ajua Maya. Their extensive menu should satisify the most diverse tastes. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and entertaining. We loved the fusion of Mayan, Mexican, US and European cuisines all served in a casual but elegant atmosphere. You can't go wrong with a night out at Ajua Maya. Prices are moderate but well worth the cost given the many more expensive and less satisfying eateries along the 5th Avenue tourist strip.

Note that Ajua Maya is in a beautiful new location on 5th avenue in Playa del Carmen.

Enjoy!

“DEE-LICIOUS!!”
Reviewed 3 April 2013

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful evening and dinner at this beautiful restaurant. Excellent service and wonderful, delicious food. The owner is so nice and friendly and really makes you feel welcome. We visited Playa del Carmen in February and loved being there and we had dinner here on our last night which made it very special. Wait until you see the servers deliver the drinks! A must for your visit to PdC.

“Ajua new location but it still rocks! Muy caliente!”
Reviewed 27 March 2013 via mobile

Dear readers, I know it has been awhile since my last review, and many of you have asked where I've been. After a difficult year, what better way to kick off the reviewing season with a review of the new locale of Ajua Maya. You'll recall that I reviewed Ajua in its previous location last year. Well, I'm happy to report that Ajua stilll serves great food and drinks in its new location which has a more modern ambiance. It still has the much appreciated drink acrobatics which I won't spoil by revealing too much here. Also, in a town where margaritas are often no more than lime water, those at Ajua thankfully still pack a punch.
