“Total Rip off!!”
Reviewed 1 January 2014 via mobile

This hotel is a total rip off! The price you have to pay is not low so I would have expected that at least it was like they post it on the pictures. The rooms are poorly equipped, the bedskirt had holes and it did not have a decent closet. This has been a terrible experience, never stay here an do yourself a favor.

We ( 2 people) just spent one night, coming from Belize..1 of us going to the Cancun airport, the other heading to Cozumel. The hotel was reco'd to us by a friend.
Slow season , had no reservations. Personnel welcomed us warmly, got a nice clean room 1 story up , overlooking the pool.Inviting , clean pool, beautiful tropical garden, a quiet AC. Easy walking to the downtown shopping/restaurant strip and little taco places all around.
I felt we got a good price for these nice surroundings and easy access to everything. We did not care about not having a towel rack or bathmat, or shelves/closets. Could be more of an issue, if we'd stay longer than a night.
Having said ,I decided to be flying into Cancun next time and stay maybe 2 nights at the Hul-Ku, before taking the ferry to CZM.
We both felt, it was a real good value, used the pool, free coffee and cookies, dinner on the strip, breakfast around the corner, easy taxi for my buddy to the bus terminal.
I'll be back for sure!

Room Tip: Higher floors are lighter, foliage on bottom floor makes the rooms dark. However, no elevator might...

We stayed in this hotel for a week. The hotel was only average. I think the hotel has a lot of potential, but they really should spend some time fixing the place up and redecorating it a little. Most of the decorations on the walls were tacky. The bathroom in our room did not have a towel rack for hanging towels. All we had was one hook. There was no bathroom mat. The hot water was on and off. There were not enough shelves or places to put your clothes in the rooms and the room was cramped and furniture did not match.

I did however really like the hammock outside of the room and eating area on the main floor. There was also free coffee which was nice.

The location of this hotel is very good. It is between to 30th avenida if you want to get away from the tourists and 5th avenida.

I really think if they fixed the hotel up, it could be a lot nicer and more enjoyable.

For this price we have stayed in a much nicer hotel in Playa.

In the first place, we were really enchanted to go in the hotel because of the pool and the nice garden. The rooms are relly clean and nicely decorated. The balconies with hammocs are great !
Unfortunately, we could not enjoy the pool because a group of more than 10 chlidren were playing in it (we were hoping to lay down by the pool and just relax, which was a big fail...)
Other point, no bathmats in the bathroom, which seems a little inconvenience but is not as much when you put water all around the floor of your room...
With little details improved, this hotel could get much better ! Too bad !

We stayed in this charming hotel for 6 weeks.
We've had a really lovely time during our stay there and were very comfortable.
The hotel is central, good value for money and has a friendly atmosphere.
The gardens and pool area are surrounded by tropical vegetation and constantly reminds you that you really are in the Caribbean.
We've particularly liked the hotel location, it's close to the Municipal palace and main square. and three blocks away from the 5th Ave. and the beach.
There are also small restaurants very close by, launderettes, and corner shops as well as a very well known Supermarket two blocks away.
We've chosen to stay in a junior suite with kitchenette and 2 balconies, one with table and chairs overlooking the lush vegetation and the other balcony had a hammock for those relaxed afternoons (just don't forget your mosquito repellant).
The room was comfortable and had all we needed. The kitchenette was very adequate with all you expect and a little more including a coffee machine, a toaster, 2 gas hobs, a microwave and a good size fridge.
The staff were very helpful at all times.
If you stay here for a few days ask about the offer to go to the Kantun-Chi ecopark and Cenotes..A truly magical place.

We stayed here one night and enjoyed it. Really nice interior, friendly staff, and pretty close to a series of restaurants and the second ADO bus terminal. Biggest complaint was the bed....a bit lumpy. But given the price, I was happier there than in the craziness of 5th avenue. The pool, though small, was nice and surrounded by plants. Too bad we didn`t get to try the artisanal ice cream they were selling.....

This is the second time i have stayed at this hotel. It is very nice cheap, has a pool balconies on most rooms and a very nice jungle style garden. Beware though my 1200 computer was zapped by there power and the battery is fried it cant even turn on with the power cord plugged in. So aslong as you are not plugging your computer in, a very nice choice.

Room Tip: Choose a second floor room they have nice balconies either shared or personal, the personal one has...
