“Great location!”
Reviewed 2 July 2011

Everything is within walking distance...food, shopping. My husband and I stayed in the master suite w/jacuzzi. We had some problems with it but the manager, Juan Francisco Quiñones Suárez, immediately addressed the problem to our satisfaction. The rooms and the pool were very clean. The beds were comfortable. Premium bottles of liquor stocked in the suite!

Ok first things first, we arrived during the night, could not park close to hotel because no cars are allowed in the street. The hotel is nicely decorated and definitely fashion. Room was nice and clean but now comes the down side of it. Oh my god, the noise from the street and clubs make it impossible for you to sleep before 4 am. We had a room facing the street, asked to move to other room but there were none available ( I also think that wouldn't have made much difference). The good side was that the hotel is nicely located by 5th avenue where all restaurants, bars and stores are located.
Next time I would stay at some resort next to playa del carmen. It is just a 10 minute drive and cabs are just not expensive at all. For the price I paid I think I could have stayed at a 4 or 5 star resort and not be bothered about the noise.
If you don;t mind the noise and is going there to go to Coco Bongo ( across the street) then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a calm place, please look elsewhere.

We stayed at In Fashion from April 28th to May 3rd and it was really perfect!
The location couldn't be better. You are close to the beach, pier to Cozumel, best bars, restaurants, and clubs. Even though the rooms are quiet and relaxing.
The hotel is gorgeous and has a modern style. The size of the rooms are great and very confortable (Junior Suite).
Only two things could be better in our stay:
- check in and check out could be done much faster (took about 20 min) but as we were on vacation it wasn't a big problem.
- the hotel's restaurant wasn't ready yet, so the breakfast was served in another restaurant located about 100mts from the hotel. But the food was really good.
Well, we totaly recomend this beautiful, confortable and affodable hotel in Playa del Carmen.

Room Tip: Rooms with street view could be noisy.

As the title indicates the location of this hotel was just excellent!
We were able to walk right out the door and around the corner to 5th ave. and just a cpl blocks to the Beach and our fav. Beach club Zensi where we spent every day we went to the beach. Was also not to far from Walmart and the Mega store if you wanted to you could easily walk both ways without much effort. With this location we were also right down the street from Coco Bongo and a cpl other night clubs a few steps out the door, depending who you are that could be a good thing or a not so good thing,as we are day people and go to sleep typically early before the party gets started we brought with us some ear plugs as we had been aware of that fact before we went and were able to have good nights sleep each night as the beds and pillows and bedding were quite nice.

The staff was very friendly and always with a friendly greeting especially the front desk staff both morning and evening, they were helpful with local tips and helped me locate a hairdryer. There was always someone at the front to open the door for you as well.

The breakfast offering was quite good as well, better then we expected Ipanemas grill had a nice spread with good fresh fruit, yogurt, two kinds of Chilaquiles, different stlye eggs, cinamom french toast, breads and some sliced meats and other stuff, also included Fresh OJ and coffee or tea,My husband is Gluten, dairy and egg free and was able to have enough to eat each morning and That brings me to the other breakfast option at Tropical which the choice was either egg dish or pancakes niether of which my husband is able to eat so we had to leave which was to bad it looked like a nice place to enjoy breakfast right out in the open on 5th ave. and also this seemed to upset our waiter a little bit,Not sure if he understood that it was because of food allergies that we had to leave, something that we notice in Mexico is not a common issue with them as almost everyone we mentioned it too thought is was odd, honestly I thought it was to until personally had to deal with it and came to appreciate it probably has to do with the way the food has been processed and the addition of GMO's in many cases.

We never did have any drinks in either of the bars or swam in either of the pools so could not comment about that other then the pools looked very clean and attractive we just preferred the beach for our swimming.

The rooms were nice and clean and kept that way our whole stay, they even had an evening turn down service,we thought it was a little odd however that they came in and cleaned despite the "Do not Disturb" sign on the knob,oh well, not that big a deal for us just didn't leave a tip that day as we didn't expect them to come in.We also noticed that the lighting was always dim which served to make one always look a little more attractive and the the room with its art as well. The shower took a while to get warm which was o.k. just turned it on a did something else for the minutes it took to get warm also thought the dual shower heads were a good idea.

We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again in the future we like the boutique hotel experience and this was a good one.

Room Tip: They have some oceanview rooms as well.

My husband and I went here on a long weekend trip. We loved the hotel- very nice, trendy, great location, and friendly staff. The room and hotel was very clean. We had a room on the third floor facing towards the beach. I was great view. The hotel was in the heart of all the great restaurants and shops of the town. The only bad things were-AC was either too cold or not cool enough, also you could here the local clubs playing music till about 4 am. I did get a massage at the hotel- it was good, but for $40 down the road you can get a great massage too right on the beach! Overall I recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: request third floor, rooms with balconies

Located between 5th & 10th avenues on 12th North this is in the heart of the action in PDC. The hotel is new enough that the shuttle driver from Cancun airport didn't know it and had to be given directions. Free Wi-Fi is available, the rooms are spartan in a modern minimalist way. They could use better lighting if you're a reader and the noise from 5th could keep a light sleeper up. But you are where everything is in Playa del Carmen.
2 pools, one on the roof and one on the 1st floor (2nd floor for Americans) are both shallow but great for cooling off in. Breakfast was included in our stay which was a full buffet at a nearby restaurant as the hotel doesn't serve food.
We got our reservations through an auction site on line and paid only $60 per night.

Me and my husband where at In Fashion for 3 night at the beggining of May....I have already started to look for plane tickets to come back. I loved the hotel .......it gorgeous and the staff is very polite and very helpfull. The rooms are immaculate and very clean, the decor is spectacular. The hotel is litteraly 5 steps from 5th avenue where you can find restaurants to fit any taste. We fell in love with Playa Del Carmen and In Fashion, we will back for sure...and hopefully very soon!
