“Excellent Service, Great Food”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

Decided to go to Zenzi for breakfast upon a recommendation from the concierge in our hotel. We were tired of the usual hotel breakfast buffet, so probably anything would have been an improvement -- but Zenzi was outstanding. The French Toast and Blueberry pancakes were off the charts good -- my kids loved them and I had the Mexican Eggs -- fluffy scrambled eggs with onions and serranos which were terrific accompanied by hashbrowns (yes GREAT hashbrowns!). The staff is terrific. Angie, the hostess, took my kids and let them draw on the restaurant chalk board and played in the sand with them and the wait staff was awesome. Right on the beach, great vibe, great views -- hard to beat. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a meal when visiting the Riviera Maya area.

“We went for the seared Ahi tuna....”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

We ate here two years ago as we were exploring playa for the first time and wanted to come back during this trip. We came to have the seared Ahi tuna sandwich. We love to have lunch on the beach so this place delivers. It's moderately priced, but then you pay more to eat on the beach I believe. The service was good, and there was lots of shade under the palm trees or you could eat under the open air roof by the bar. We would come back.

“Lasagna”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

My husband saw in the music guide that Zenzi's was having a lasagna festival one of the days of our visit. Festival was certainly an exaggeration. They were serving lasagna and they had a band playing. When we arrived, no one was there to help us so we didn't know if we should seat ourselves or not. We stood there looking around for a bit before the manager (I am guessing) got up from her table to seat us. Our waiter was not very attentive and when we said we wanted to order the lasagna, he said he had to go check to see if there was any left. What? Luckily, there was and it was incredible! The band was very good and the view can't be beat. If they step up the service, this place would be top notch.

“Breathtaking”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

This place is just amazing, located just on the beach, it offers one of the greatest atmospheres in Playa del Carmen. During the nights you can enjoy a drink or a dinner while listening to live music, getting relaxed on a bed beach. The food is incredible, the Coconut Shrimps (Camarones al Coco) and the Tuna Toasts (Tostadas de Atún) are highly recommended. You won't regret it :)

“Go there for the food, the drinks & the live band, not for the beach”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

This is my second time at Zenzi. The food is excellent and it one of the rare beach club which also takes the time to present its meal with great taste. Try their mixed ceviche and guacamole. You will be in heaven ! Order also some frozen margaritas and try their shots of tequila late at night.

The atmosphere is good during the day and even better at night with great live bands which communicate with the public if this latter is as warm my friend and I were. The service is also good.

However, the beach front is not a good spot. Close to Indigo where they are lots of boats polluting the water. The beach beds really need to be replaced. But there is a shower outside, which is quite nice. If you're un a great mood or a little drunk, all of this won't matter. But if you want a little class, this is not the place.
