“Best day of our holiday”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

This was a great day, we had booked chichen itza and coba. We were a bit nervous been on our own with our guide and driver, but shouldn't of worried, the guide was great and he made the day, he was always speaking and sharing information with us, CI really is incredible for how old it is, nicely preserved. Coba was a lot more fun with less history, the bike rides then that trek all the way to the top, the view is great looking over the jungle. Then they took us to a cenote right by coba and we was the only ones there, it was amazing and was the highlight of the day, jumping of the diving bored is also fun. First class day.

Jesse was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable of Mexicos history and he is a fish living on land. He did some amazing things underwater. The lunch was nice and the cenote was unreal. So beautiful.

“A catered and personalized tour with expert staff”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

We just came back from this tour a week ago - it was amazing. This is my second trip to Mexico, and my second time to some of these same sites, but the catered experience made the difference. From courteous staff, and expert guide and the best driver you could hope for, this was well worth the value compared to the crowded hotel offerings I'm typically used to.

From the get go, Miguel, our driver, and Enrique, our guide, picked us right up at the front lobby on time. Enrique has so much knowledge and answered any question our group had for him. His degree in Anthropology definitely shows. He was even a part of some of the original archeological expeditions!

We had a private party of 7, and they made sure to cater to our needs. We had one member who couldn't keep up with the pace, but Enrique patiently waited so nobody would miss a beat. He even made some time for us to do some extra browsing at the vendors along the way.

The food at the Cenote stop was so-so. Typical buffet lunch with a couple of mains, and some pasta and dessert. The drinks were extra, so make sure you bring some extra cash for this. I did ask about the availability of life jackets for the group and the tour organizer (not Enrique) confirmed that they are available, but he did not mention that it was at a cost. Although not much at about $2.50 USD per vest, it did come at a surprise. Something to keep an eye out for if you have members who cannot swim.

If we ever come back to the area, we would definitely book with Mayans Explorers again. Thank you Enrique and Miguel for the wonderful service!

“You will be happy to choose Mayan's Explorers”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 via mobile

Looking back at all the other positive reviews I can honestly say my family and I had the same experience as many others. Thats consistant great even pasionate service paired with sincere love for mexico and the mayan culture. We enjoyed learning to count in mayan with Jose who's mayan ancestry brought real vision and understanding for the life and culture "already passed". And Diego thanks for the cave tour at kantun-chi we loved swimming thru those underground chambers after roasting at tulum thanks so much for the pictures you went to much trouble to take of us. We truly wish you well. Ruben and Marcelo thank you both also our two days exploring the mayan world went exceptionally well.

We were in the area with our family of 5 (teens and young adults) and retained the Mayan Explorers to take our group of 5 to Chitchen Itza and Ek Balaam (the Mayan Experience). They did a great job. We were so glad that we had a private tour. It was just our family and the two tour guides, and because we were not in a huge group, we were able to bypass the busy times when the regular tour groups are there and enjoy Chitchzen Itza almost to ourselves. The tour guides were not only very pleasant and accommodating but also very personable and full of lots of wonderful information about the Mayan culture and the two sites we visited.

I recommend this tour and the Mayan Explorer as a tour provider highly. You won't regret it.
