A first rate holiday where we did not want to go home. Staff all friendly and welcoming with a "can do" attitude nothing was too much problem. The entertainment staff were superb and ensured they all got to know you. Food and the service staff were excellent. Highly recommended hotel, we are planning a return trip very soon.

My husband and I accompanied our daughter here on her special senior highschool spring break trip. This beautiful resort is so large that we were all able to find what we came here for; gorgeous Caribbean beach and sunny weather, shady palapas, delicious fresh food and drinks, relaxation, recreational activities organized by enthusiastic and friendly staff (Carlos, Andriana, and Marcelo for pool and beach games and dancing,...Angel, our waiter, even supplied us with tablecloths to use as shawls when the ocean breezes got too chilly at dinner!) The bartenders were superb--always busy mixing up fresh cold fruity tropical drinks. The water was purified in all of the restaurants on this resort so no need to worry about getting sick. I love the way the hotel design with its palapa roof, fountains, and landscaping blends with natural setting of the beach and jungle areas. I hated to leave! I would love to go back!!

Room Tip: Tile Stairways can get slick if per chance there is a heavy rain--go slowly.

This was our second trip to Mexico but the first with our kids (ages 8, 12 and 14). I was nervous about this all inclusive. It was so reasonably priced I was afraid it would be awful. But we were traveling with 3 kids and didn't need (couldn't afford) the top of the line. We were pleasantly surprised by the Iberostar and our kids were over the moon. I will give this an excellent for the price.

First, the food. Yes, the buffets were repetitive but massive. If you are creative, you can eat quite well. My kids learned to ask for things in Spanish, a favorite being "dos huevos fritos por favor". They loved such easy access to food versus our usual, exhausting hunt for dinner at the end of a long vacation day! As an adult, I like surprises but my kids loved the consistency. The mexican on the buffets was delicious. We had two reservations at al a carte restaurants and they were fine. Kids enjoy the hibachi grill and the sushi there was basic but tasty. We also did the steakhouse which, while nothing special, was a nice break and food was decent. Have I had better food? Sure. But it was so convenient and better then I would have expected for the price. Burgers, ice cream and fries by the beach were always a hit. My kids looked forward to the a la cartes but we also really liked the freedom of heading to the buffets whenever we felt like it without a reservation. Breakfast opened at 4am so coffee was available to enjoy those howling monkeys.

The beach was beautiful - clear, clean and so blue. Pool was very nice. The best part for us, with kids, were the amount of activities they offered every day. And everyone comes to have fun and participate. This is not some sleepy resort. The "star friends" are there morning, noon and night with something new to do. Card tricks or balloon animals at dinner, water polo, zumba, bingo, etc during the day and nightly entertainment. The most fun was the magic carpet where they would lay a few giant rafts across the pool and adults compete to see who can get across without falling. It was really fun to do and watch. My 8 year old spent some time in the kids club and while it's small, they did some fun things and remembered her name, and helped her make friends which she would play with in the pool outside of the club hours. She also had the chance to participate in a little lion king performance on the first night - she loved it and the costumes and makeup were adorable. Each night offered a mini-disco, a half hour dance club for kids after dinner, before the show. The star friends from the kids club were very sweet and engaging even in the evening. Evening shows were not really worth staying awake for. Seemed kind of amateur and made us giggle at times. If you are lloking for broadway, look elsewhere. I was always too tired anyway.

The drinks were plentiful but just OK. Nothing special. The wine with meals was pretty good. Mojitos were generally so sweet we couldn't finish so I learned to ask for Bacardi and less sweet. The bartenders were happy to accommodate any requests. They were happy to serve top shelf tequila shots if you asked. Again, for the price, I wasn't expecting much so the drinks met my expectations. And perhaps watered down drinks are a service to the family crowd they cater to.

Rooms were comfortable and with the blackout shades very dark. We had adjoining rooms in building 14. Lots of noise from the resort next door or perhaps our resort until 11:00pm but it didn't bother anyone too much - we were exhausted at the end of every day. The monkeys and peacocks were close and incredible -- but be prepared to be woken early by loud howling! I am a light sleeper so it woke me but my kids slept right through it every day.

Good facilities and staff very accommodating for a large hotel. Gardens and jungle setting fabulous and site well maintained and clean, though tiles in pool could have done with a scrub down. Easter is peak time so alarm had to be set to get a decent sunbed spot each day.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at this resort and have nothing but praise! I don't get the people moaning about sunbed reserving as we were a family of five and never found it a problem to get sunbeds that were in full sun next to ones that were in the shade, even at 9am so those moaning about it can't have been looking hard enough. There were people who would get up at half five to reserve sunbeds but there really was no need. We always found somewhere we were happy with. I can't comment on the springbreakers much as we were at the shallower end of the pool with beach views most of the time. I did walk past the adults swim up bar a few times and it was pretty lively but looked like there was a mix of people in there, not just American teens.
The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful and kept the hotel very clean. The rooms seem a little dated but this didn't bother us as we didn't spend much time there apart from sleeping!
The animation team were very friendly and excellent with our three children aged 8, 7 and 2. Our older kids loved the kids club with Cristal and Blue. There were a few tears when they left! Mauricio, isvan, yohal and andres were also particularly friendly and entertaining. They all work 16 hours and only one day off a week but were always full of energy with big smiles. We had to use the hotel doctor for our son. He was a really friendly guy and helpful.
Overall we had a fantastic time and look forward to going back in the future!

The facilities are great: beach couldn't be better, pool is awesome, tennis courts are well maintained, exercise room has what you need, and the dining rooms are rarely crowded. The service has some holes. The activities staff is fantastic, but the desks are surprisingly slow. The food is inconsistent: breakfast is great, lunch is OK, and dinner (depending on which restaurant) ranges from poor to slightly above average. If I owned the place, there would be more beer options, but I'm funny that way. All in all, it's a good value and we had a great time.
