They have a Starbucks and a couple of really nice stores. There's a very nice silver shop with decent prices.

Visited Plaza Playacar. Lots of interesting shops and Starbucks for Wi-fi, would be nice if there were more places to eat and drink there.

If you are tired of long drives or their usually unappealing designs, you will probably find this shopping plaza attractive. Small, easy to stroll, with some colonial features and very close to your hotel (if you are staying in Playacar). Shops are varied, some good and some not. Fine jewelry (try Plata Magna and the young man in charge's attention ) and Artesanias La Catrina handcrafts (although prices were somewhat better for these where I lunched after Chichen Itza). Plus, it is in the main boulevard, which is scenic itself. And cabs are always 2 minutes away.

On our last day, we stopped in here to kill some time before our airport shuttle picked us up. Nice little walk (1/3mile) from Tucan Quetzal. We noticed all the souvenirs here said "RIVIERA MAYA" instead of "PLAYA DEL CARMEN", so we were glad we had bought those types of souvenirs for our kids when we shopped 5 avenue.
