Me and my boyfriend went to Sandos from Feb 25-28th, it was a last minute discussion to go on this trip, and let me say... WOW!!! it was great. The people were nice and friendly, and the resort was beautiful!!!! It was VERY WELL kept, clean and recent. Our room was on the third floor over looking the pool and beach, was gorgeous. Not to mention there was a hot tub on the patio! The beach was very pretty and they had people always making sure it was nice and clean. They had nightly entrainment, with good variety. They had restaurants you got to book, that were themed, and had buffets, we took advantage of the buffet open late and grab food in the middle of the night  They had activities, we did snorkeling, which was a two hour exertion, and they took you on a tour, and it was amazing, the fish and everything you saw, it was unbelievable. Overall, WAS GREAT and didn’t want to leave! Me and my boyfriend are already planning to go back, but for longer, so we can get more activities in! But I definitely recommend it for sure!

My wife and I have just returned from a two week stay at the Sandos Caracol on the Mayan Riviera. The resort is beautiful and well maintained and the service is exceptionally good. We booked a Junior Suite which had a large balcony with a jacuzzt and two additional windows all with a view of the ocean. Room service was punctual every day and everything worked fine. The resort has four pools. The first few days we spent the time at the adult pool which was nice and quiet. Later we spend time at the main pool which had daily activities and the last week was spent at the beach. Although the resort was booked solid we did not experience overcrowding and we could always find a place to sit at the pool or at the beach to enjoy the sunshine.
The food was excellent in terms of quality and variety with three buffets and four restaurants to choose from. Two of the restaurants serve steak for dinner and the meat ,particularly the Fillet Mignon, was exceptional even by Canadian standards. As I Indicated earlier the service everywhere was always to our satisfaction.
We spent the one rainy day we had at the resort spa which included a one hour massage each and the use of the facilities including hot pool ,sauna and excercise room which we thoroughly enjoyed.
We had been at this resort before about five years ago, but the improvemts that have been made since have been very positive. The resort has the feel of a a global village in terms of the clientelle and the spaciousness of the facilities which have been designed to complement and be in harmony with the pristine natural environment.
The style of the resort management is very effective since it is based on the principle of 'managing by walking around' .Every day the managers were visible somewhere on the resort.and this undoubtly contributed to the positive atmosphere overall client service, and hospitality of the place.
Overall it is the best valued resort we have stayed in Mexico.

We booked our vacation through the website skyauction.com. Frankly, the accepted bid price was so good, that I was concerned. Not including insurance, we booked at $39 per person, per night, (pus air) which came out to a total of about $600 for a 7 night stay for two people! Amazingly, we had no problems at all. Our only problem was that it took skyauction over a week to verify my requested dates. If they would have refused, a refund would have been given.

Our experience was very positive. Our room was a king sized room, located near the main pool area. Overall, it was very quiet, except for workers who rolled carts up and down the sidewalks early in the morning. This however was not a major inconvenience. Take a good set of ear plugs and you won't have a worry in the world. After all, the sun comes up early! Our rooms were clean and well maintained. No problems with security at all, having used a safe provided in the room. Also, no problems with insects at all. The only problem was with the air conditioning, however they responded immediately.

The food was very good. We were told that reservations were full for the steak restaurant. However, one evening we walked into the restaurant and asked if they had room. Several tables were open. So, we were serviced. So, if you're told, "we're booked" at the front desk, go to the restaurant anyhow. The steaks were average, by American standards. Go with the filet mignon. The other steaks are noticeably smaller and the cuts are thinner. The Med. restaraurant is a great location with some seating near the beach. You do not need reservations for the Italian or Mexican restaurants. Overall, we found the main buffet restaurant to be very good. The desserts are incredible!

We used cancun valet to take us to/from the airport. No problems at all; they were on time and didn't miss a thing. They're a little more expensive than other services, but we didn't have to deal with additional stop offs and there was no worry about their reliability. I'd go with them again!

The entertainment was acceptable, though not the quality you'd find on a good cruise ship. That was OK....since we were often tired in the evening from fun in the sun.

Several advised enrolling in the free select club, which we did. It provided limited free internet, limited to 15 minutes per setting. The beach is also private as is one swimming area. Food is provided in the select club house, which is adequate, though not "over the top".

If you want a lounge chair, be sure to go to the pool and/or beach early. Normally, by 8:30 most spots were taken. So mark your chair with a book, towel or other possession. Since we were near the pool, we did this daily and had no problems. AT first, we felt it wasn't right to do this, but quickly realized that if we didn't do this, we'd have to wait a while for a "vacancy".

Would we go again? Yes, especially at that incredible price. But if you do use skyacution.com, please be sure to read the fine print so you don't get caught with additional charges you didn't see coming. Always read the fine print and you won't be surprised.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a 7-day stay at Sandos Caracol. We had an excellent time! Our room was clean, the refrigerator was stocked each day with beer and soft drinks, and the food at all of the restaurants was superb. The resort is very large with plenty of activities that will keep you busy--if you choose. The entire resort was nicely landscaped and clean. The pools were beautiful and in good repair.

The best part about this resort is that it sits among a jungle. You will see exotic creatures (birds, turtles, crabs, fish, and iguanas) when walking to and from your room (don't worry, they are always off the boardwalk and do not come too close). Also, the staff are always putting on special activities that keep things interesting.

The only concern is that the beach is extremely rocky, but a pair of water shoes will solve the problem. The upside of the rocks is the colorful fish you will see when snorkeling off the beach.

A few hints: 1) bring big cups to be filled by the bartenders; 2) make restaurants reservations as soon as you arrive; 3) the "booze cruise" snorkeling trip to Isla Mujueres that leaves from Cancun and that is sold by the VENDORS ON THE BEACH is a great time; 4) bring water shoes for swimming in the ocean.

Do not listen to bad reviews about this place. It is a great place, especially for families. The food was great with a good amount of variety. I don't think that I ate the same meal twice for the entire week that we stayed there. Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, and a great juice bar in the morning. You can choose various meats to have grilled for you in the evening, as well as fish. I heard various folks complain about the food throughout the week and to be quite honest, they were usually overweight Americans who are used to eating McDonalds frequently. Drinks were great. Bartenders are more than happy to oblige when you ask to add extra booze. The surroundings were beautifully maintained. Absolutely no complaints about housekeeping, towels, and service. All folks that worked there were extremely nice.

The only negative things that I have to say is that this is not a good choice for you if you spend a lot of time at in the ocean. Beach is great for enjoying the sun but not a lot of access to the water due to rocks. Also, the toilets by the large pool were not the cleanest and sometimes out of order. Definitely take your flip flops into the bathrooms.

Otherwise, I would certainly go back here especially for the money. Employees were super friendly to my 3 year old son and the pool was perfect for him as they had a kid-friendly shallow area. Great value for the money

My wife and I signed up for the Mayan Promo and we did not know which resort we were going to stay at until we got to Cancun. There was three possible resorts and we were a little nervous of getting selected to the Sandos Caracol based on some of the negative reviews we read before we left. Well, in simplest terms, "WE LOVED IT!!!!! The service was excellent and the resort was beautiful. I can ramble on forever about all the nice things about this resort, (such as the many tasty food choices you had, the 4 pools, the Jacuzzi Spa, 11 bars and the disco) but that would be pointless until you actually experience this resort for yourself.

What you actually need to know is some of the advice my wife and I have to offer. First and for most, if you can, try and up-grade to the Select Club (VIP) status (can do this on-line on the Sandos website). This gives you access to its own private pool where there is a variety of different snacks served all day long (the nachos are amazing). In addition, the service is unbelievable. You also have access to a "Select Club" on the beach where it has its own private area, bar, snacks. patio and internet availability. Very relaxing environment. Secondly, if you want to get a good spot pool side or on the beach, you need to get up early to reserve a spot with your towel. This is somewhat frustrating if you're a late sleeper. Thirdly, take a bunch of 1 dollar American bills for tips, small tips go along way when it comes to upgrading your service. Lastly, swimming isn't the greatest because its rocky however the beach itself is excellent.

We would return in a heart beat!!!

Don't believe all the garbage you read about this place.
We had 7 couples who flew in from Milwaukee on Jan. 10th.

Our week was a delight. Having been to 23 all inclusives resorts in Playa Del Carmen area, this ranks #3 in best hotels.

The Sandos VIP CLUB is an excellent deal. You must sign up online with the hotel before you leave home.

This FREE upgrade got all of us a better room complete with robes & slippers, jacuzzi, mini bar fridge with beer, soda & bottled water.

You also get to use an exclusive pool for members only.

The only drawback to the place? The oriental restaurant was the worst of the Al a Carte's.

The steak grill is outstanding. Usually, steak is not very good in Mexico. This was not the case here.
The Mediterranen & Mexico were also superb.

They have a FREE Shuttle to town every day. Not your basic little van that holds 6 people, ts was an air conditioned motor coach that holds 44 people.

The timeshare people hover around a desk at the enance to the lobby. Just tell them you're not the least bit interested, & they will not bother you.

They are trying to give you a "FREE" week for doing a presentation. Don't believe it for a minute. It's nothing more than a free room. You still have to spend $90 per person, per day for the all inclusive package. You also have to figure in your airfare.

One of the guys pitching this was a bit new. I managed to get a lot of info out of him. Example, $58,000 to "buy" a week at this place! If you don't like that price, they will drop down to $38,000!

Service was excellent is all areas. Food & drinks were always fast.

Sandos Club area on the beach allows you a private area. Internet access is free for all VIP Members upstairs above the b area.

I know you'll enjoy your stay as much as we did.
