We got kidnapped for 12 hrs of which 7 of those hours were driving around Mexican country side and 5 hrs actually looking at something.
Of the 5 useful hrs of tour, the only enjoyable time were the 3.5 hrs spent in Chcichen Itza... the Valladolid stop is really unneeded there is NOTHING to see or do in Valladolid ..
the Cenote stop would have been fun, but the tour only stops there for 1 hr , maybe if they would spend less time driving people around Mexico we would have more time to enjoy and the archaeological sites or cenote.
Your are MUCH BETTER off by riding the ADO Buses which take you straight to the site.. you enjoy all the time you want at your leisure, then you can walk to the cenote , enjoy 2+ hours more in the cool water, eat lunch at the Cenote's restaurant hotel..then back to your ADO bus to Playa del Carmen at a reasonable time, and even enjoy the last hours of your hot day at the beach .
Here are a few points copied from a previous review which I thought match exactly how we felt during our tour to Chichen Itza with Easy Tour.
1. A mini van comes and 10+ tourists are packed like sardines in a MINI tiny van after an hour tour in Playa del carmen to pickup all passengers.
2. South to tulum(!) "technical stop" to pick up more passengers to continue packing the van
3.Stop of 40min in Valladolid just to take some pictures. No guiding... Nothing to see there either
4. A 60min stop in a cenote and rushing to take a quick dive in the packed water together with 3-4 big buses and 3-4 minibuses of tourists that arrived at the same time.
5.Lunch at a place that is a disgrace for the mexican cuisine, near the ruins.
7.FINALLY AT THE RUINS at 14.30. After spending all morning somewhere else!!!
8.Guided tour both in english+german that took double time FOR MORE THAN 20-25people
9.FINALLY 30min in a rush to take some pics just before the place closes.
AVOID THEM!!! Do your own tour with ADO. The same applies to the Coba, Tulum tours.. and do not even consider the tours to the natural reserves ... ADO shall be your best friend for everything...
