Not one negative thing to say about this hotel . . .lovely peaceful location in a safely guarded area . . . 15 minute walk to 5th ave - and a nice walk at that! Very friendly staff . . .and the lovely lady that cleaned our room made some awesome towel people which I LOVED! They reall made the extra effort. The breakfast is really good and the rooms are perfect. Hope so much to come back some day :)

I just got back from a 12 night stay, we stayed in one of their lovely 2 bedrooms suite.
I have nothing negative to say about this hotel, very clean, lovely lobby, exceptional staff.
Breakfast is served every morning at the pool, there is a good variety of food.
It is a 15-20 walk to town, but the comfort and the luxury the hotels offers make it well worth while. A taxi will cost 70 poses (approx 5.75$).
Thank you everyone at the Vista Real for the lovely stay

I spent five nights here................................I really enjoyed the comfort of the room, it is slightly dated (but not in a bad way), and having the buffet breakfast outside by the pool is a nice touch. Because you are right beside the golfcourse I wanted to just walk round it but of course you can't as it a very expensive exclusive course. Getting to the beach is a bit frustrating cos you know if you walked across the golf course you would be on it in five minutes, but instead you have to walk back into the centre which takes about 15mins, not a problem for most people. The hotel is in Playacar which joins onto Playa del Carmen and is a residential area (mainly expats) and is extremely quiet which to be honest I found a bit strange given this in Mexico land of noise and colour, but if that is what you are looking for you will find it here. The other thing I found odd was that given the class and size of the hotel that they only had freshly cooked food for the breakfast period. This means that you have no choice but to return to Playa del Carmen for eating out, I did ask about it and they explained that in the high season this changes. If you take taxis back from Playa del Carmen make sure to have a card from the hotel as otherwise a lot of the taxi drivers don't know it by that name, I presume it must have changed its' name in recent times. Most of the staff where very helpful and friendly, other than one who when i walked away outside to eat my toast told me i couldn't take any food to my room, I had no intention of doing so, and was slightly taken aback at his attitude and assumption that I was, and even if I did , why would that be so wrong given the mini bar is full of crisps and biscuits , and room service consists of ordered in pizza? I point out these minor things only because this is not an inexpensive place to stay in, overall it is very pleasing on the eye, and very safe and secluded, and if you like turtles you can see lots of them popping their little heads up as you sit and eat breakfast.
Maybe in high season it's not so quiet, but while i was there i felt like tiptoeing about, and the other guests all seemed to speak , eat, move, breath silently! Last point, there are lots of bats that zoom along the balcony at dusk (I don't like bats!!!), but then they settle down and stay out of the way.

Room Tip: Adjoining rooms with door through have NO soundproofing!..............don't take one unless your...

And if you can find the hotel. Which presented quite a challenge from the airport.
The rooms were huge. The beds were luxurious, the room included a private living room and balcony, for a few beers while watching the birds strut past. Right next to the golf course, but we didn't play golf. There are plenty of activities to get to from here, you can take the ferry to the island and go snorkelling, like we did. Rent a purple mini and drive like the blazes then sit in the beautiful sun, swim in the beautiful water. Or stay at the beautiful hotel and sit in the pool and drink a frozen margarita. Waffles with syrup and/or cereal for breakfast. But I can never find Mexican food that I actually enjoy. Paradise but for the food, which is average.

Room Tip: We had trouble because our travel agent booked over the internet, so there was almost a devastating...

we got a two-bed apartment, which is really a surprise as I only booked two standard room but we got a huge living room, kitchen, and direct access to the lake in the middle of the golf course!

I love sitting outside the room, which is just besides the lake and their pool. The view was amazing!

THe rooms are nice, with very big bath rooms, and decorated with features.

It is not very close to the town centre though, and you need to wait for ages for a taxi: the only disappointing bit is because the hotel is too nice, we stayed at hotel most of the times and didn't enjoy Playa del Carmen too much....

In a private area of Playa del Carmen, this hotel offers lovely rooms (exactly as the photos, including rose petals on the bed) with air conditioning, large bathroom, mini bar, roomservice, a pool area, and quite an extensive breakfast with local specialties. The bed is huge, you could easily sleep with three persons in it. This hotel overlooks a golf course and a small lake, with dozens of turtles and small fish in it. The internet is a bit slow. Good value for money, def. recommend this place.

This place was so unlike all the other hotels in Quintana Roo. It was quiet, green, lush. I'm not a golfer but it sits on a golf course. The pool was clean, our bedroom was comfortable. Breakfast wasn't a 10, but it was an 8.5 by my standards. Walking distance to Cozumel Ferry, beach, and 5th Ave shopping area. I will go back within this next year.

Room Tip: If you are used to having a wash rag, bring one. Everything else is good to go. The little Italian r...
