This is my 3rd visit to this quaint little open air restaurant off the beaten path of 5th ave. You have to try the homemade hotcakes, I don't know how they do it but these are by far the best I have ever tried. Everything is fresh and tasty and the owners are so nice and friendly and make sure that you enjoy your meal. Can't wait to go back!

If like us you want to live like a local! Then venture away from 5th avenue as most of what you will find is overpriced 'tex mex' food!!

This restaurant is a diamond in the rough! We where delighted to find this place Providing us with delicious traditional home made dishes. We enjoyed fresh fruit salad with fresh orange juice, then Mexican eggs (wow) with ham beans and tacos for breakfast. We would also enjoy specials for lunch. If you are adventurous then try whatever's on offer! It's extremely cheap for what you get.

The owners are also the most welcoming kind nature and wonderful people we have been fortune to meet in a very long time. Not only providing delicious food but advising us in where to visit on our trip. Showing us new flavours with there food and even letting us watch them make Jamaica water. A very refreshing healthy drink which they introduced us to.

They are what made our holiday so amazing and we can't wait to see them again and indulge in there wonderful food too.

We stumbled upon this place while wandering around 10th Avenue, and are so glad that we stopped here for lunch. For the uninitiated, a Comida Corrida restaurant is a place where locals will stop for a quick lunch at a cheap price.
They have a limited 'set menu' of various types of chicken, steak, pork, other meats and a veggie option, which is served with rice, beans, salad, tortillas, and comes with a starter of soup and a glass of juice.
The service is very quick and the food very filling - especially for the price which at 30 pesos is an absolute bargain for such good quality food. No alcohol is served but there's a bar next door. The staff are absolutely charming and so willing to help - brush up on your Spanish to help them out too.
If you can get a seat on the street, it's also a great place to people-watch and watch the world going by.
Definitely worth a stop for a quick bite to eat. Eat like a local and visit these authentic, cheap and great-tasting places instead of the overpriced restaurants on 5th avenue.
