A perfect place for your holidays! It is situated at 20 m from the main street,5th avenue, and at 50 m from the beach. The position enables you to move easily only by walking you can reach all the restaurants and shops or organize your own excursions without having to depend on taxis or tourist agencies. Of course this will save you a lot of money also.
Wifi functions perfectly in whole the hotel and it is free of charge.
The hotel also provides tickets for the beds on the beach which for you as a guest are free while otherwise they would cost you 200 pesos (aprox. 16 dollars).
Simple but very comfortable rooms with the balcony, big bathroom always kept clean.
The staff of the hotel is really excellent!!!Whatever you might need everybody will do their best to help you and make you feel at home.

at such a cheap price I wasnt expecting too much, how wrong was I. The staff were amazing, I got towel art of elephants and dinosaurs on a few days of my stay, my room was huge and my bed the biggest I have ever stayed in (two queens put together to make one big bed for my room) the natural honey products in the rooms a treat. breakfast of fresh fruit and hot baked items were a delight and the waiters were lovely. the only down side was the noise from building works during the day time to extend the top floor - they were controlled though and i had peace and quiet every evening and morning. The location is perfect, right next to the beach and there is someone on hand to answer questions on trips and they have free drinking water and refillable bottles put in your rooms. awesome job!

Room Tip: I had room 203 which was an internal room, very quiet during the building works. i would ask for a r...

we stayed there on dec 10, 2013.
we had a very clean, modern room. the air conditioning is very good, strong and quite. the bathroom was modern and all the toiletries were included. the location is fantastic. between the action on fifth ave and mosquito beach. there are lots of beach clubs to relax at direct in front of the hotel's street and lots or restaurants about the area. our room was not noisy although I had a balcony over looking the 8th calle and it was nice to sit out there and watch the goings on up the road. the 12th street disco madness is four blocks away so you don't hear the noise from there, but it is close to the discos if that's what you're looking for. there was a very nice club on the beach which had a great live band that played rock music and it was close to the hotel.

parking was two blocks away and cost ten usd for 24hrs. it was a secure lot with an attendant there all the time. walmart is five blocks away on the same street as the hotel, so it is easy to get supplies if you have forgotten anything.
breakfast was included and although it was a continental breakfast it was an upscale one.

excellent value for the money, clean, safe and secure. I will use this hotel next time I'm in Playa.

Room Tip: the little balcony facing the street is better than the ones which have an internal balcony facing t...

Lobby - The place has a very nice lobby with a "concierge" to help with booking tours etc. We could write our postcards, stamp them, and drop them off there. Save the hassle of finding a post office. I liked how there was water in the lobby so that we can fill out our water bottles before heading out for long expeditions.

Staff - To start with, the hotel staff spoke good English and was very helpful. They even helped us made a phone call to clarify some questions about a tour.

Room - Clean and spacious. There were different interesting towel animals on our beds every day.

Location - Very convenient, just by 5th avenue, where all the main shops and restaurants are. A few blocks walk to the bus station, and the location to catch the collectivos.

The staff is very professional and nice to the guests. The rooms are relatively big and spacious.
Breakfast was o.k too. Located at the main avenue, steps from the fairy and restaurants. In the hotel there is a staff member whom you can consult about the activities near playa.

I found Xperience Hotels a reliable network. Illusion is very well located, close to city center and 1 minute walk to the beach. I can easily say GREAT price-quality! Not everything is perfect (slow elevator... but there's no rush... :), internet on an off, depending on where your room is, noisy water drainage - only gives you trouble if it rains really, really hard)...but what is important is very good! Breakfast is simple, nothing fancy, but there is always fresh fruit and a freshly baked croissant, and it is served with quite some class. Rooms are very clean and comfy and have great natural toiletries! The pool up on top is not functional at the moment... I don't know if it is the low season or what... but you can still enjoy some nice view from up there. Then, go in the sea.... it is so nice and warm, the pool would be a waste!
The personnel is always eager to help, but sometimes is a bit slow... Oh, wait, we are in Mexico where time is .... plenty :)! Marco, our consierge, was a pleasure to talk to get some knowledge of the place.
And as a piece of advice, if you want to go places in a simple but safe way (Tulum, Playa Paradiso..., do not hesitate to use the local vans... they are relatively cheap (I found Mexico rather expensive...) and spares you A LOT of money.
Enjoy!

Room Tip: Rooms on the street side have better wifi connection. if it's rainy season, you may ask for a ro...

Just got back from PDC and stayed at Illusion. The location is great (10th & 5th Avenues). My husband and I stayed here using a Groupon deal. The bed was hard as a brick .... like sleeping on the floor ... literally. No wash cloths or hand towels ... had to ask ... they didn't know what I was asking for so we walked to Walmart and purchased our own. Room smelled like a damp basement ... and that may have been due to the fact that everything isn't turned on until you insert your key and turn a/c on to cool off room. Upon checking in we were not told or given any of the coupons that most places do give out to their guests to the local establishments. We had to ask for them. Also they didn't tell us about their on-site restaurant. Learned about that through venturing out. The most disappointing thing was the CONSTRUCTION. Who in their right mind wants to come in at 4 am and be awoken to the sounds of pounding, drilling, etc at 7 am. I strongly suggest you ask if construction has stopped and that goes with wherever you're staying in PDC. But overall our stay was good. The room does come with a mini-fridge and a full-length mirror. Room 310 is good and comes with a balcony where you can look out to 5th Avenue and see the people.
