Whet to this resort with another couple to renew our vows. Everything went so smoothly it was amazing. We where upgraded to a beautiful room. The food was great, especially the outside steakhouse. The drinks are the best I'v had on our many travels. The grounds are impeccable.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough from the customer service to the food to the entertainment this hotel has it all!! The food is different every night and the themed restaurants are great something for everyone and amazing quality. The evening entertainment was like a paid for show you expect to see at a theatre and the day time entertainment is just as great!

The pool bar staff would come to us on our loungers and take orders and even came into the pool to see if we wanted anything, the staff an honestly not do enough for you here! My birthday was half way through our
Holiday and at breakfast we had champagne and all the waiters sang happy birthday then I had cocktails made for me all day but the bar staff and to top it off we had more champagne and big bunches of flowers on our dinner table at the steak restaurant which made my birthday absolutely spectacular so imagine my joy when on return to our room we had a chocolate covered strawberries with card on our bed with a pair of towel swans on the bed! Magical time and we plan to go back again in 2016!!! Well done Riu!!!!

If you are looking for a gorgeous hotel, clean as can be, beautiful beach, great pool, and dedicated staff, then this is the place for you. The hotel has an amazing feel to it, almost like an old world charm. Very beautiful architecture and decoration- I've really never seen anything like it. The staff is constantly cleaning, mopping tiles, cleaning bathrooms, taking care of the landscaping, sand, seaweed, etc. They are always working. They are friendly, helpful, and everyone speaks a good amount of English. Most of the servers, bartenders, etc. are fluent in English. The setup of the hotel is so convenient. The beach and pool are attached so you can between both, and the rooms aren't far either. Now the downfall- the food. It is not good. Only thing that was good was the omelets in the morning and the restaurant Krystal. Everything else was pretty bad especially the Japanese. If you don't care about food then I suggest you come here. It is very family friendly but also good for couples. They also have free wi-fi throughout the entire hotel grounds now! :)

Room Tip: Courtyard facing. Think it is called a superior room.

My husband and I and our two kids, 14 and 12 spent 10 nights, 7/28 - 8/4/14. It was a beautiful resort with many luxurious amenities. The food was top notch and the drinks (top-shelf). The buffet restaurant was very inviting with so many choices. However, the a la carte restaurants were average at best. For a hotel of this caliber, I was disappointed that the only cappuccino and espresso coffees served were from a vending machine, where you push button. The pool, although looks very inviting in pictures, it isn't as big or open in real life. The smaller infinity pool within the larger pool was a disappointment and the water is boiling by Noon time. The only place to cool off is the ocean. The entertainment staff didn't seem to be as friendly or as funn as the "Star Friends" of the Iberostar resorts. Although a very nice place, next time I would choose to stay at an Iberostar resort instead.

Myself, my sister and mum and dad stayed here from 26th July - 10th August. The front desk staff were friendly & helpful as soon as we arrived and were helpful when we requested to move rooms due to faults in the room. We only experience one bad day with the front desk staff when one was rude and cold but our Thomas cook rep was really helpful and talking to us about this.
The food was okay. After staying at other Riu's and other all inclusive hotels all across the world I felt the food her was pretty average. The quality wasn't the best and the main buffet was extremely repetitive. The a la carte restaurants were also just average. What kind of supposed steak house has only 1 steak on the menu?!
The pool area is very clean and the drinks service around the pool is great! The pool itself is boiling and when you get in from the sea it literally feels like a bath. Thank god for the sea to cool you down really!
All in all I think the hotel is nice but I would say there are better places to stay in Mexico if you're really looking for luxury.

This was our first trip to an all-inclusive resort. We really enjoyed it! I had read that you had to make reservations for dinner at 7:30 am, not true reservations were made between 12-3pm & you could make them for at least 2 days ahead. Room was nice, but there was a musty odor to it & things didn't seem to get dry quick. Maybe it's just the humid climate? We didn't use the pool, but the beach was just out from the pool, very convenient. The entertainment at night was a little lacking. It seemed like the same show every night, just a different name for the show. Housekeeping staff didn't speak English! I tried to ask for something different in our fridge & she couldn't understand me. Finally gave up. Be careful when ordering drinks, my non-alcoholic pina coladas ended up having alcohol a couple of times. The beach was dirty with cigarette butts, glasses, etc. But nothing can beat the beautiful turquoise waters! Kayaks, snorkeling gear were free to hotel guests for 1 hour. All staff were pleasant & always spoke. All in all this is a very good resort.

Room Tip: We requested a room close to the beach end of the hotel. You could see the water through the palm t...
