While the staff at Playa del Karma is truly wonderful some physical restraints and poor management decisions detract from this little hotel. It is an old renovated hostel with few amenities. Reading lights would have made our room less gloomy, however there has been investment in making them comfortable -good beds, ceiling fans, small refrigerator and TV.
The free continental breakfast suffers badly. The coffee is weak, the orange juice is watered down orange drink, and inexplicably the only cereals offered are sugary kids offerings! The bread is white bread, no yogurt, no fruit. The $5-6 breakfast that is offered is sub-par complimented with the same poor coffee, orange drink and bread. On most days we ate breakfast around the corner ; it was cheaper and excellent.
All this said with the church bells across the street getting us up at 7:45, and some noise the place has charm thanks to the staff. I would hope that management appreciates them and realizes how easily improvements could be made to this little potential gem of a hotel (church bells aside).More
