i felt like i was at my friends house. the staff all became friends and the service was very personal and punctual. i never had to hesitate to ask for information.......

the restrauant on site delivers all your wishes
with a signature homemade pumkin salsa that makes you leave your diet ...
and always fresh dishes..!

of course the local is great
across from the beach and near the bus
its relatively quiet and close to all the action

would i go again ?
yes
mucho more times!

enjoy

I booked two rooms at this hotel on-line for my husband and myself and another couple. I am always nervous booking something we haven't seen in person first, but was pleasantly surprised! We stayed at the Marriott in Cancun for a half of week and then Hotel Cielo for the other half of week. While it was no Marriott I have to say because of the staff, clean rooms and location we all enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Cielo probably even more. The French Toast which is included with the room rate in the morning was to die for. We also had drinks which were served with chips and salsa the first night and dinner the second night at the restaurant below. Don't leave without trying the pumpkin salsa (we tried getting Russell to ship some to us, lol) and the shrimp brochette(sp?) was delicious! Thanks to all of the staff for making our stay so enjoyable!!

We stayed at Hotel Cielo for 5 days and found this to be a nice hotel, nothing fancy but well worth the money. The hotel is within walking distance of just about everything. The staff very friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. We were looking for a place to eat and Henry suggested a restaurant that locals like to go away from the 5th Ave. tourist area. Not only did we pay half of what we would have paid on 5th Ave. but we also got an authentic Mexican meal. We will definitely come back to Hotel Cielo

As a regular traveler to mexico , i love to stay at small hotels with character - friendly staff - great location - inexpensive. Hotel Cielo filled all of those (wants) and more.
Ive stayed at hotel Cielo on 4 different occasions over the past few years and have been (very) satisfied to say the least....Staff is great, the rooms are very neat.... beds are comfy enough, turndown service every morning , very cool Banos. Location is ideal.... Centrally located in the heart of playa, 1 block from beach, which can be viewed from either the beautiful rooftop Bar or the cafe at street level which has GREAT food, spectacular French pressed coffee and my favorite, Icy cold mugs that i like to fill with.... Negro Modelo.... yum !

As for the noise that i keep hearing about.... It is not that bad ! Your in Playa Del Carmen !!! this is not a sleepy little village... its a Fun - Lively - Town where people come to dance-eat-swim-dive-sightsee.... To live !!!

For those who want or need internet there is an internet cafe right next door ; )
Want a great massage on the roof or in your room, call Giorgio ! Ask at the front desk and they will happily set it up for you as well as just about anything else..... Very Helpful !

Liked best - Character of hotel, food-drink-staff : )
Liked least - No room service, but thats just my prissy side complaining ;v)

Have a great stay

Love n Soul ; )

We had room 23 and the entire stay was very enjoyable. It was so centrally located and walking distance to just about everything we were interested in. The breakfast was very good and filling enough! I just wished they started serving a little earlier, maybe by 8am instead of 9am.
The sink is kind of weird and we did hit our heads but it wasn't a big deal. The bed was comfy enough, but it's not a 5 star hotel. It was clean though, very clean! I'm allergic to dust & dust mites and can tell it was cleaned thoroughly, especially since i'd walk around barefooted and didn't feel any dirt on my feet. It's a bargain for sure and quite pretty in my opinion. We loved the view up on top but didn't notice if and when their bar was open. Our room didn't have a nice view but I didn't care about that and the noise levels outside didn't bother me one bit.
Henry was generous enough to hold our luggage after we checked out since we were hanging out in the area until we met up with friends later in the evening.
There is a conveniently located internet cafe next door!

Let me start by saying that the hotel is in a great location, 10 steps from 5th Avenue and one block from the beach. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. If you need anything, Henry is excellent: he will answer any questions you have. Just tell him what you are interested in doing, and he will help you narrow down the choices. We met the owners Jimmy and Russ, they are very cool beings.

Hotel Negatives: NONE! You will NOT be dissapointed.

Hotel Positives: Henry, location, Carboncitos which is the restaurant down stairs, very tasty, the roof top dining is a must. Checkout the roof top open air bathroom!

Recommendations for transportation: Take the ADO bus from the airport to playa del carment ($9 per person). Drops you off about 2 blocks from the hotel. The collectivos are another good way of cheap transportation of getting around, once you are in Playa.. Ask Henry where to catch them.

Things to do: Akumal Bay was good for snorkelng, we saw a turtle and a sting ray. Yal ku Lagoon was ok but I would stay on the big beach. Cenotes: Hidden World Caves were awesome. We snorkeled there.( "Skinny man" was very friendly and nice ). Cozumel: We took the ferry over, about 25 bucks round trip per person. And we recommend snorkeling off of Palancar beach. They take you out on the boat to the Palancar reef. And if you like to Salsa dance, checkout Mambo Cafe, great live salsa band!

Have a great time!!!!!

If you need a place convenient to the bus station for exploring the area, this is your place. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. The restaurant in the hotel had very excellent food and drink.
