We just got back from a 5-night stay at the Rosemont Mayakoba over Memorial Day. We definitely validated the reason(s) for the No. 1 TripAdvisor rating. Grounds were fantastic, our over-water lagoon suite was serene and architecturally interesting, and most of the food was great. The service really made the biggest difference, though - especially on the beach, where every need is taken care of.

We typically spend a few hours at a beach because it's not the most comfortable place in the world, and we'd end up going snorkeling, walking, or lounging by the pool as a result. Not so at the Rosemont beach. Perfect chairs, a never-ending supply of Negra Modelos or margaritas, and lunch brought to you while you hang out and relax. You pay for the privilege, to be sure, but man, is it worth it for a few days. Best beach experience we've ever had.

Dining was also notable - Punta Bonita during the day (definitely not at night - a real letdown) and Casa de Lago at night. The latter is the Rosemont's flagship restaurant and served, hands down, the best food we've ever had in the Caribbean.

We'll be back again.

I went to this hotel to spend a week. As soon as you get out of the secure area @ Cancun airport, you are going to find your driver waiting for you. They own a fleet of Cadillac Escalades, packed with amenities like water, fresh towels, etc. When you arrive at the hotel (45 minutes driving distance from the airport), you are going to feel very welcome. The staff goes above and beyond to serve you. We got a room with our own private pool, beach view, separate living area. Yes, this hotel is pricy, but you are getting what you paid for. I can not list all the amenities in the room, neither name each employee that makes us (my wife, my son and I) feel at home, because I would need a complete list of all employees. Clearly they are there to make your stay as pleasant as possible, which in this case was perfect for us. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If you are able to get one, try a room with beach view from the terrace (the private pool/spa is loc...

What a hotel! I have never experienced such wonderful, helpful and ever happy staff. This hotel complex must be classed as one of the best in the world. Sure it is expensive but worth every "penny". If u fancy an A La Carte breakfast, go no further---wow what a choice. Varying palates are taken care of at night with different cuisines. The rooms with their own outside showers, dip pools and extremely comfortable beds, all set around a lake---what more can you want. Of course the perfection of this amazing Hotel complex must come back to management. Congratulations and keep it going. A truly remarkable stay.

Wonderful service, great food very large and spacious rooms, each with its own lap pool. Nice beach, amazingly soft white sand. But no nature! It's a great place to simply relax and enjoy the top notch service.... and pay big time for all of it.
Take into account that your room rate does not include a 34% tax and resort fee... So if you choose the least expensive room @ $600 night, you'll end up paying $800. Add to this, that service is so wonderful that the personnel deserves good tips, so between tips and meals without going crazy on drinks, expect to spend at least $1300/day.
Oh and the spa is really nice, so just keep adding!
Tip: Try to book through Amex Travel and you'll get breakfast included plus $100 towards a spa service, early check inn, late check out, and upgrade upon availability.
The hotel offers a 4th night free during some times, beware, most travel sites don't show that promo... And you can't double dip. Only one promo @ time.

Being from Costa Rica I wonder if it's worth visiting Mayakoba having what we have at home.
I don't regret coming, I had a perfect vacation, but don't think I'll be back.

This is by far the best hotel I have ever visited. The service is incredible, the atmosphere is completely "zen" and the rooms are very spacious. Also the 3 different restaurants they have are also very nice, the Asian one was our favorite!

Room Tip: All the rooms are fantastic, you can never make a bad choice!

What an amazing resort, but what a difficult layout. For those that do not know, the majority of the rooms are not near the beach or the main pool. They do have golf carts to transport you to the other areas of the resort, but you cannot count on them. My wife and I are young and enjoy exercise so for the most part did not mind walking to the beach everyday. However, a few times when we were in a hurry for a dinner reservation or to head to the airport, the lack of rides was frustrating. We had pre-arranged to have a golf cart pick up our luggage before checkout. The ride never arrived so I had to carry our bags to the lobby.

The resort, pool, and amenities are top notch. You will not be disappointed. A quick shout-out to our butler Adha, who was amazing. She hooked us up with newspapers, waters, and dinner reservations. The bell hop/valet guys were rude, but the rest of the staff was amazing.
