“Second visit as good as the first!”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

Rosewood Mayakoba continues to be an amazing resort. The wonderful greeting upon arriving, the easy check-in and the relaxing cruise to your suite transforms you into a relaxing state. Our butler, Nick , was waiting for us at our private dock and took care of getting us settled in. He took care of our spa and dinner reservations for the week and kept tabs on us to see if we had any other needs. Our suite overlooked both the lagoons and the ocean and was beautifully equipped. We enjoyed the Pratessi sheets and the little extra goodies that appeared in our room throughout our stay. We enjoyed eating at all of the restaurants. Agave Azul had great sushi and a fun atmosphere and we loved the lobster tacos and ceviche at Punta Bonita. The dinners and breakfast at Casa del Lago were also delicious. The staff was wonderful and well trained - we were truly pampered! I have been to spas throughout the world and cannot think of a spa that is better equipped, more beautiful or that has more to offer. A trip to the spa is a must while staying at Rosewood. The grounds were beautifully kept and we enjoyed walking and biking around the resort just to take in the beauty of this space. Its hard to put in a review just how wonderful this place is. You must come see it for yourself. Also, it is an easy flight from central and eastern US. After being picked up at the airport you can be on the beach with an agave mojito in hand in approx. 90 min! We can't wait to go back for our next visit!

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad villa here. We loved walking between the beach and main part of th...

The Rosewood Mayakoba is by far the most impressive resort I have stayed at. The staff is AMAZING, the food was always good, our suite was so comfortable, and the entire experience was unforgettable. It is a preferred resort of the rich and famous. I loved riding the complimentary bike throughout the property - the golf carts are nice perk too. The wildlife is abundant and we loved sharing our vacation with all of the wildlife.
I cannot wait to return and would rec this resort to anyone willing to pay the price...it is worth it.

Room Tip: Pay the "lesser" price tag for the lagoon view rooms, that are further from the beach - th...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Rosewood for our 10th Anniversary and what a great decision that was. Our visit will go down as one of the nicest, most relaxing, and beautiful vacations we have ever experienced. To put it simply, the staff and facilities at the Rosewood are world class.

The room was beautiful, the beach was quiet and clean, the plunge pool overlooking the ocean was warm and private, the food was great at two of the restaurants (Punta Bonita and Casa del Lago) and pretty good at the other (Agave Azul), and the drinks were awesome at the Punta Bonita bar.

However, what makes this resort stand out in my opinion is the incredible customer service. From top to bottom, the nice airport transfer driver, the lobby staff, the boat and golf cart drivers, the very friendly bartenders, the butler, even the cleaning staff - everyone was friendly, always willing to help out and accommodated, on the spot, virtually every request we made.

We especially loved the daily fresh fruit in the room, the tequila recommendations from the bartenders at Punta Bonita, the incredible couples spa treatment, and the fact that virtually everything you get annoyed at paying for at other nice resorts, i.e. fresh water bottles in the room, kayaks and other beach toys, fast wifi in the room, etc., was complimentary.

Trust us, just go. And when you get there, don't leave. Just eat, drink and be merry. (There's certainly nothing in downtown Playa that would justify ever leaving the resort grounds.)

Room Tip: Splurge and get either one of the beachfront rooms (they all have private beach access and heated pr...

We stayed at the Rosewood for 11 nights and I must say as a world traveller who stays at luxury 5* resorts around the world the Rosewood is clearly a 5* plus hotel. From the seamless check-in you are greeted with a smile and green juice. The lagoon suites are spacious, large and you have service at least twice a day. Each room has its own butler and I would like to thank the excellent service provided by Ada, Alberto and his team. All staff refereed to you by your name, always smiling and whenever you made a request the reply is absolutely. No request is unachievable, when I requested fresh coconuts, our butler ensured that these were delivered (5 of them) on ice to us at the beach front, at no extra charge.

The layout of the resort is such that you are golf carted around which is great fun and easily accessible. The beach is very clean, you have no problem with sun beds, indeed these are immediately set out for you with your towels and a bucket of ice and water all courtesy of the hotel, and continuously replaced before the ice even melts. Around lunch time you are brought mini pizzas, ice lollies and little shots of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (at no extra cost).

Overall I can honestly say that this has been one of the best holidays we have ever had. The only point I would make is that as a family of 5 adults, as only bed and breakfast were included, we did find the restaurants slightly costly. Although the food was of excellent standard, the service was impeccable, any families visiting should carefully budget as on average we calculated with no alcoholic drinks you are looking at a minimum price of £50 per head. Otherwise, I would highly recommend for a 4-5 day stay for both families and couples. It was all-in-all a tranquil paradise!!

My wife and I have stayed at resorts around the world including Four Seasons, Costa Rica, Ritz Carlton in Bali and many Mandarin Orientals. This property in the most unique destination with top notch hospitality and service. Don't spend your money on the ocean view rooms since you will spend most of your day at the beach front pool anyway. one of the things we were worried about was planning to wat all our meals in the Rosewood and the surrounding Mayakoba resorts. The food was excellent for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. We tried all the outlets and were never disappointed.

We agree with all the positive reviews. It is an extremely well-run resort, with great care for its guests. The attention paid to our requests was terrific. The El Camaleon golf course too is absolutely superb - at least as good as Club del Sol near Cabo, if not better. Aussies won't mind the heat at all, although some of the folks I played with from America found it a bit trying. Bikes can be ridden right around the three Mayakoba resorts, (the nature trail is very nice, winding through rainforests, cenotes and lagoons) and dining at any restaurants of the three resorts can be cross-charged to your own room. The resort quite properly (and understandably) seeks to promote Mexican wines, the best of which are very good. Casa Del Lago has an excellent wine list from other countries as well. It ranks with the best resorts we have experienced around the world.

Room Tip: We stayed in a lagoon view room near the beach. It was very convenient to the beach, the pool and th...

We visited during March break with our kids. The accommodations were amazing including the outdoor shower and the hot tub plunge pool. Not to mention the roof top terrace. Food was great. Poolside service was unbeatable. Only issue is the beach in this area as it is rocky in the water but who cares. The infinity pool was great.

Dear Brad W
Thank you very much for the kind review regarding your recent stay with us at Rosewood Mayakoba. I was delighted to read that your experience with us was Spectacular and you enjoyed both the spacious suites all with private plunge pools and the roof top terraces... So glad to read you also took advantage of our poolside services where our beach and pool attendants are there to pamper and provide exceptional amenities. Truly appreciate your feedback regarding the rocks on the beach. there are a couple of spots with a few rocks, but the majority of the beach is pristine and look forward to having our lifeguards show you a beautiful area to swim right in front of the resort.. My team and are working on bringing in more sand and ensure all areas are rock free.... We all look forward to your return and glad to know the rocks didn't put a damper on your spectacular stay.... Thanks so much for staying with us and see you soon...Regards...Graeme Davis...Managing Director
