We chose this property for its central location, good mentions in the NY Times, and reasonable rates for a jungle view room. We were very satisfied with the hotel. The standalone bungalow provided privacy, enough space for us and our luggage, and a very short walk to the beach on property, and though our room was close to the road, that was fine, since we always had the fan on at night anyway. Noise wasn't an issue. Another issue with beach view rooms (on our last visit to Tulum we stayed in a bungalow on the beach) is the humidity and the dampness that pervades all of your clothing and luggage; that was less of an issue farther from the water.
The beach beds/chairs for all guests were lovely, and we made full use of the beach and the common area with internet.
Finally, the restaurant (Casa Banana) is one of our favorites in all of Tulum. The food is phenomenally good, Caribbean. We could have eaten all our meals there.
We would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.
My one issue with all Tulum hotels is the saltwater shower; it does not work with my naturally curly, tangly hair, but I know to expect it now and go for messy hair.
