My husband and I stayed here from September 11th-18th. We loved our stay in room 19 (Viento del Mar), set back from the beach with a gorgeous view, over the trees, of the ocean. The entire hotel is beautiful, I loved finding new routes to the beach and getting peaks at each of the unique bungalows.

We took our complimentary breakfast every morning at the restaurant, Casa Banana, which consisted of fresh fruit and warm bread. We enjoyed the restaurant for a few of our lunches/dinners but also enjoyed short walks up and down the beach and road to try other restaurants.

The Nueva Vida staff helped us arrange a couple of tours to Coba and Chichen Itza. We were happy with both tour companies and had a wonderful time.

Overall, a very beautiful, very relaxing trip. We thoroughly enjoyed Hotel Nueva Vida and will definitely be returning in the future.

Me and my wife stayed here from Sept 7th - 14th, and had a wonderful time. The weather was rather rainy, but that is the gamble when you travel to this region in Sept. We stayed in room #30 and it was great. The room was clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Breakfast was served on the balcony each morning and our room was cleaned with fresh towels and sheets everyday. The beach was wonderful and there are a number of great restaurants dotted up and down the beach which are within an easy walk from here. Mariela who was one of the managers was very helpful; and we enjoyed talking with her.

If you decide you want to go to Tulum for a get-away, you want go wrong by staying at this location.

My husband and I stayed here after travelling in the US for a month, which included getting hitched in Vegas!!!
From the outset the staff were very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble. If you are looking for a place to relax, swim, take a couple of day trips and then just relex some more - this is the place for you.

We had a beach front bungalow, which was amazing with sea turtles nesting right next door. It was great because 2 steps out our front door and we were on the sand. There was also a constant sea breeze which made the heat much more pleasant.

Thanks again to the staff at Neuva Vida - I have already started recommending this place to my friends and family. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Room directly on the beach.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights for a getaway vacation of relaxation from our busy city life in Philadelphia and to decompress from the stress of work. This was the PERFECT place to do it. I have been traveling to beaches and staying in hotels all over Mexico my entire life since I was very little with my family and my boyfriend has as well, and this was absolutely a 10 for us. Tulum was recommended to us by a few people for its natural environment that is not all commercial and built up, and we are so glad we took their advice of coming here. It is so refreshing to go somewhere that is not full of the nonsense of today's fake, touristy places. The location is a refuge in-between the breathtaking ocean and jungle. You feel like you are really in a private, natural hideaway. No noise but the sound of the rushing waves to fall asleep to every night. A complete dream to fall asleep to. And the beach was empty, it was like we had our own private beach!!! We would see an average of maybe 5-10 people tops each day passing by. The service was also excellent. The staff truly gave you the feel that they genuinely cared about making your stay as great as possible. Everyone was so warm, friendly, and personable, but also very professional at the same time. They were never on top of you offering assistance, like the a nuisance that some hotel staff often are, but were always there when you needed anything. I work in hotels and know what good service is and they provide the best.
We stayed in the #12 Alma del Mar Caribbean Bungalow and it was absolutely the best choice for us, better than what we even expected. It is right at the edge of the reserve directly on the beach. We had our own private palapa with a hammock and bed to lie on right in front of our bungalow on the beach, which we spent the entire day using. The beach was clean and beautiful. The water was so warm and the most beautiful color. The waves and undertow were very calm, so you could swim out fairly far without fear of getting stuck.
The restaurant at the hotel was also wonderful. We ate breakfast and lunch there and it was a very peaceful environment where you could people watch whoever passed by on the road while enclosed in the reserve with trees and foliage all around. I was even amazed that the mosquitos weren't that bad considering we were in the middle of a nature reserve. The food was simple, but delicious. The fruit was so fresh and sweet. We also fell in love with their ceviche. We ended up ordering it for lunch almost every day - so fresh and perfectly balanced for a beach lunch.
All in all this was a perfect trip and Nuevo Vida de Ramiro made our stay so memorable and magical. Since we left we have been talking about how we want to make it a yearly trip. We can't wait to go back and have been recommending it to everyone we know. Thank you Nuevo Vida de Ramiro!

My wife and I returned last week from our fourth visit to Tulum and fourth stay at Nueva Vida. We first stayed there in 2007 for our honeymoon and could not imagine staying anywhere else when we come to enjoy Tulum and the surrounding attractions. There is little to say that hasn't already been said in the other reviews: a wide range of beautiful rooms on or near a meticulously maintained stretch of beach, healthy but delicious complimentary breakfasts, a lay-out which makes you feel secluded even when most/all of the rooms are full, and friendly, informative service, particularly from Ricardo - the "go-to-guy" for any questions you have or travel arrangements you need to make. The restaurant also does great lunches and dinners (get the steak), but we always rent a car so we can get our taco fix at Urge Taquito, pollo al carbon, and sample some of the other amazing restaurants along the beach. If you are expecting AC, 1000 channels of cable TV, and outlets for all of your electronic crap, then probably neither Nueva Vida nor Tulum are the place for you. If you want to feel like the star of your very own Corona commercial, you could hardly do better!

Room Tip: The beachside cabanas are great, but if there's only two of you, many of the $100/night rooms facing the beach are a great value!
