**GLOWING RECOMMENDATIONS** Thanks Dan - you're the man! We had the most fantastic day in your friendly, passionate and patient company :) Based at the Mayan city of Tulum, we met Dan - our super-relaxed and obliging tour guide. He gave us the run-down on all the local places to visit and allowed us to choose the activities on-the-way....we did the lot! REASONABLE PRICES. The most wonderful, memorable day.

Starting at the cenotes Dos ojos - snorkeled through stunning fresh water caves (and part of the jungle that was flooded closeby!). Bats, stalagmites, stalactities...

Next, we drove to Akumal beach to see the sea turtles You're not allowed to touch, chase or disturb the turtles in ANY way, just cruise along watching them graze the sea bed below. They're a protected species, with guarded nests on the beach - very cool to see (***see our note below about our terrible experience with another tour group guide close by - a BIG mention here, as we were disgusted by his behavior toward our tour guide Dan). Joy lunch here - chili bean tacos and ice cold Bohemia beer a must.

Yal-ku lagoon next - where fresh water meets ocean - stunning setting and beautiful swim - lots of fish and rock clefts/caves.

From here, we stopped for photos at an outlook over Halfmoon Bay...and stopped for a stroll in the buzzing Playa Del Carmen's 5th Avenue. All up - glorious sites and great guide - Dan knew so much about the area, interesting stories and gave plenty of tips for the journeys ahead. Thanks so much for the memories - HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS for DAN, and company EDVENTURE TOURS.

(***take note - at the Akumal sea turtle experience, life jackets must be worn in regulation. We are 2 guys and a girl - guys are pro yachtsmen, dive masters, and I am a state swimmer, we are all registered life savers. We chose not to go with Dan's advice to wear life jackets based on our expertise and the light weather conditions. In the water, Dan was aggressively harassed without reason, by a member of the local dive group "AKUMAL DIVE SHOP" - the man started yelling and physically pushing and pulling our guide and his flippers, starting a fight and confrontation - about his negligence at us not wearing jackets - it was in fact OUR refusal to wear them against Dan's advice, and not his negligence whatsoever. We were all shaken and dismayed by this rude and highly unprofessional approach by the fellow guide company - it was disgusting. We were so upset and embarrassed to put Dan in the position we did. A massive THUMBS DOWN to AKUMAL DIVE SHOP and their behaviour in front of tourists, and unruly treatment of other guide groups who have all the right to be there also) Go with Edventure Tours, they're the best!!!!

I wasn't sure whether to do a day trip during my stay in Tulum or not, but after some research of different tours I bit the bullet and booked the Extreme Tour with Edventures. I was picked up right out front of my hotel in Tulum and taken to the dive shop to meet the rest of my tour and the tour guides. We were able to choose a drink of choice for the cooler and then we were off. Beginning with the Zip Line through the jungle, with access only via a ATV ride through the jungle. The zip lining was excellent, the guides were extremely thorough in their safety checks and put all participants first. After that we headed to the cenote's for some snorkelling. Even with the water levels as high as they were, we were still able to spend a good amount of time exploring the hidden caves and learning about the different formations. Lunch followed our snorkelling, a delicious authentic mayan dish, pulled pork tacos! We headed to Akumal to snorkel with the turtles after lunch. Our guide, Raul, was honest with us and let us know that the ocean might be a bit rough due to the weather over the past couple of days. However, upon arrival at Akumal we could see nothing but blue skies, blue ocean and white sand in front of us. The perfect conditions to snorkel! 5 turtles, 2 stingrays and a floor full of beautiful co

Considering this was a repeat trip to Riveria Maya, my fiance and I decided that we would use this vacation to relax and avoid any tours. However after our 4th day of our trip, we grew bored of our hotel and decided around 9:30 p.m, that we wanted to go on a tour the following morning. After reading the positive reviews of Edventure Tours, we decided to book w/ this company. Unfortunately, I was unable to make a pymt online via my tablet and I emailed Eddy (owner) asking him to call our hotel room. Upon returning from dinner, we received a phone call from Eddy and we were a able to book the "Edventure Zipline" tour for the following morning.

The tour, park and guides were phenomenal!!!! We went on the tour with another couple and were super excited to have such a private experience- it was awesome to have the park all to ourselves and receive the impeccable service that we did. The food was beyond delicious , the park was clean and easy to navigate and the guides were so helpful. We are looking forward to going to Tulum and we are sure we will be booking another adventure with Eddy. Thanks again for such a memorable experience.

We did the extreme tour, which started off by driving a polaris through the jungle to 9 ziplines..we then got to cool off in a few cenotes..we were served an authentic Mexican lunch of tortillas and pulled pork and chicken right in the middle of the jungle..we were then taken to snorkel with the sea turtles and then to a lagoon filled with lots of awesome fish..we ended up at Beuna Vista a little bar/restaurant right on the beach for some drinks and apps..Eddy and Bonnie the owners are awesome people and made sure this was the best day of our vacation..our guide Caesar was a blast too!! This tour is much better than the tours they offer from the hotels..it is much more personable and more one on one..this is actually the 2nd time we have done one of Eddy's tours..the first time was 7 years ago, with a couple of our best friends, Fred and Mar..you will have to ask Eddy the story of how we met and what an AWESOME day we had back then..so we decided to come back with our boys who are 17 and 19..they loved it just as much as we did the first time. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for some adventure and fun, and not the typical large group excursion..thanks again Eddy and Bonnie and Caesar for lots of laughs and great times

We booked 2 trips with Edventure Tours following reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed!! We had 2 amazing fun packed days out and prior to arriving on hols in Mexico Eddie and Bonnie were in contact to ensure that all went well for our trips. These guys are the real deal - small organised eco groups, with great guides who know their stuff and ensure you have a great time and see the real Mexico!

We booked the Extreme Tour and Whale Sharks and loved them both. Cesar was great = we loved the ATV ride through the jungle, the zip lining in the middle of the jungle with a small group of people guaranteeing a great experience and a good laugh. The cenotes were fun, snorkelling at Akumal was a complete turtle fest and the semi private aquarium lagoon was breathtaking. A really long day but great fun, great food, beer, sun!!

The whale sharks were something else and a big thank you to David! To be able to be so close to such enormous graceful creatures was a real highlight. We also booked the photos for 2 days 40USD (bargain) .

Please please don't wait to book trips when you get to the hotels in Mexico, you get ripped off and shoved into mass artificial experiences - these guys are the real deal, from the pick up from the hotel lobby to returning you'll have a hoot, get close to nature without the crowds and have fun with friendly, knowledgeable people. Thank you Eddie, Bonnie et al and we will be back!!!!
