“Excellent Chef!”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

We had tried to go in prior years but it was always closed so we got lucky this year. The chef is very personally invested and comes out to meet you and check on how you liked the food. We had the red snapper and scallops, but everything else on the menu looked great as well. It is further down, in the biosphere but worth the walk for sure.

“Very peaceful”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

Stefan is so personable, coming to your table himself. The food was quite tasty although my husband's fish was overlooked. Everything else was terrific. The whole experience was delightful. Peaceful music, beautiful surroundings, it was just great. The truffle linguini is incredible. Definitely recommend!

“At the end of Tulum Beach a Sequested Paradise”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

On our last night, in the rain and mist, we drove to the last restaurant (it's in a small beach resort) at the end of Tulum Beach for dinner - and we are glad we did! Stephan, the chef, stops by your table and is warm and engaging and sweet and funny - and the man can cook! We both had fish and it was well prepared and the soft lighting and sound of the ocean in the background were both nice touches and appreciated. Dining is not timed by a stop watch and if you want be sure to get in - make a reservation by phone.

“Fantastic Rehearsal Dinner”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

We have been vacationing in Tulum for the past three years and go there for the casual and no-frills experience.

However, with 30 family members flying in from around the US, the grooms folks wanted to treat everyone to a special night before the wedding.

Hechizo was fantastic for this. Chef Stefan Schober and his Pastry Chef wife Ying-Hui Thai were friendly, thoughtful and attentive when developing the (food and wine) menu and the execution was even better.

It was a European quality evening with an excellent location, chef, service, food and wine.

The cocktails on the patio over-looking the beach followed by the three course meal complete with warm chocolate souffle made this crowd (that eats at top restaurants in SF, DC, NY and BOS) very happy.

Chef Stefan was wonderful to everyone throughout the evening, he even made up beds for the young kids near the dining area.

We can't say enough great things about the whole experience.

Enjoy!

“Top notch”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

This is not your average restaurant in Tulum or on The Mayan Riviera. The service is excellent, they were there for everything you needed but never overbearing. The drinks were delicious, but note that they have a limited scope of what they will make, as they could not accommodate one of the requests at our table for a certain cocktail. Also the martini was served in a tiny glass, but the other drinks were regular sizes. The food was delicious, from appetizer to entrees, and dessert was to die for! Highly recommend.
