Description: Located across the beach road from Nueva Vida is Casa Banana Steakhouse, a Tulum dining hot spot. Serving up classic Argentinian style cuisine, the food here is simple, fresh and delicious. For breakfast each morning enjoy made to order coffee, homemade banana bread, and pineapple coconut jam. At night the restraurant gets busy and comes alive with it’s outdoor grill, known as “parilla,” and dishes are cooked over the open fire for all to see. The menu favorites include grilled to perfection steak, fresh caught fish, impressive salads, and a thoughtfully selected wine list. Don’t forget to try the handshaken icy margaritas, too.Open daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. We provide beach service for all guests of the hotel.

Excellent grilled food, venue has a cool chill vibe about with good music but a little pricey and cash only. Definitely recommend the fillet mignon!

“Exceptional food and stylish interior”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

We noticed Casa Banana driving by at the evening due to attractive atmosphere (from the furniture till lighting). Next evening we went there for a dinner. It was really amazing! Food was very good as well as wine. They have limited number of dishes in menu, with focus of steaks and meat dishes.
As for prices, it is really expensive even for Tulum (though worth it at least for one "special" evening). Service is not bad, but a bit slow. And be careful with mosquitos! It was funny: when I came outside the restaurant to use repellent, one girl was also already doing the same in front of entrance :) Casa Banana has its own parking spot.

One of the top places and a must eat at destination in Tulum. Really nice Argentinian style steaks and grilled veggies.

“Casa Banana for the whole family”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We were with a family group that was in Tulum for a wedding across the street at La Zebra resort. So, we wandered over to Casa Banana and asked if they could accomodate us, about 16 people in all. They were able to without much advance notice. The food was good and fast. The open fire pit for cooking was pretty cool. We enjoyed it. The squid I got was overcooked, so it was on the rubbery side. I was too polite to turn it back in. But, everything else was great.

“Wow!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Loved, loved, loved this restaurant. Yes, it's expensive, even by Tulum standards, but worth every penny. This was the BEST meal, by a mile, that we had while in Tulum. Heck, it was the best meal we had in months. Two people with a couple of drinks each and two entrees plus tip was about $100. Would do it again without question.
