Just got back from a fantastic two weeks at Coco Tulum. Being pretty disorganised we didn't have time to plan a multi location trip so when a mate recommended Coco we booked 14 nights. Very glad that we did! Cabanas very comfortable, no air con or bathroom but this is reflected in the price and their location more than makes up for this. Fan in the room and sea breeze helps. Shared bathrooms spotless. The staff make this place too. All of them are so friendly and helpful and the food and drinks are great too.

The beach and the sea are wonderful. If you want to properly relax this is the place for you

I stayed here with my boyfriend for only one night in February. The pros: the location is great, the beach is beautiful and the rooms are so lovely. We arrived early and although our room wasnt ready, the hotel stored them for us and we were allowed to use all of the facilities. The food (we had lots of pizza) at the hotel restaurant was delicious. The room was so beautiful, we had one of the second floor bungalows and it got a lot of the ocean breeze. The only negatives are: my boyfriend got eaten alive by mosquitos overnight. However, I used Deet and was relatively untouched. And the only other negative is that one night was not enough and we wished we could have stayed longer!

Very nice rooms that include a personal deck and hammock with two chairs. My girlfriend and I stayed in suite 15 on the second floor, which had a bit nicer view than suite 18 right next to it and set back from the beach by about 100 yds. The view was really nice with a direct line of sight to the ocean that was not obstructed.

The shared bathroom concept works out very well and gives you the opportunity to stay in a really nice place with excellent views for a cheaper price. The bathrooms was very clean and the showers were great, hot water all the time with ample pressure.

They have six hammocks on the beach in addition to their multiple lounge chairs and from my run down Tulum beach were the only place to have more than 2 hammocks on the beach.

If you are looking for a really nice place to stay with a great view and don't need a bathroom next to your bed then this is the spot.

Room Tip: second floor rooms have a much better view

This property is super fun! The units are beautiful, simple, and romantic. They can improve the front desk service. It was a bit painful trying to communicate with them. Do not count on them to help with typical concierge type services. i.e. what to do and where to go. The restaurant is awesome and delicious... but as other restaurants in the area its a bit over priced. Try going into the town of Tulum for less expensive delicious meals. We stayed in 17 and 18. Be aware of this side of the hotel as there are people camping or a hostel on the other side of the privacy/ security fence. People are living there and they can be a bit loud in the morning.... we were woken up several times early by banging buckets and other working sounds/ They are not partying. This could change at anytime so maybe inquire about it before you stay in those rooms. The views from the top units are amazing- I highly recommend the top units for the view, sea breeze, and privacy. the bathroom situation is surprisingly easy and no problem at all.

Room Tip: I highly recommend the top units for the view, sea breeze, and privacy.

Stayed for 4 nights May 2014. Room was basic, i noticed our cabana (no 12) lacked shelves unlike the other cabanas we saw. Staff were helpful, has a great spot on the beach. Sharing the bathrooms was no problem at all, the area is kept clean. Would stay again but next time would be more picky with the cabana i chose.

Coco not only met my expectations but exceeded it. It was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had and some of the best sleep I have ever had. Falling asleep in a hammock was so relaxing. We had a cabana on the beach and did not mind sharing a bathroom. They keep everything super clean here. The food was excellent and it was nice to eat at the restaurant or at the beach. I would highly highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back.
