I travelled with my family of 4 (including 12 and 14 year olds) and we had an amazing time. Las Palmas is clean, well- stocked with towels and filtered water, and a minute from the beach. I could always find a palapa no matter what time I arrived at the beach and it was not crowded even though it was spring break. Loved that the kitchen cut costs, and Tom's recommendations for tours and food were spot on.
Would recommend that you rent a car as the restaurants in this hotel zone are quite pricey. Also bring a debit card or lots of pesos as credit cards are taken almost nowhere and US dollars have a very poor exchange rate if you pay in US $. Bring lots of mosquito repellant and sunscreen too!!!
